Norwich vs Castleton, Friday 2/12

Re: Norwich vs Castleton, Friday 2/12

Getting 2480 into Spartan arena...that would be a sight to see! As for the game, Norwich and CSC are similar types of teams but Norwich has more talent...should be a Cadet win...which doesn't matter to me...they were supposed to win last Saturday!!!

Well, somebody squeezed over 2k into Lansing Chapman on a Tuesday! So anything's possible ;)

WillieC what is interesting is that both Norwich and Middlebury are very inclusive in allowing away team fans to attend there game; in Norwich's case most of the reserved seats are sold but standing room is always available. At Middlebury all you have to do is stand in line and grab the best seat available. Compare that with Castleton where the only way to get a seat for a big game is drive down to Rutland or Castleton during the week to pick up tickets. At Plattsburgh there is probable always tickets available but you are never sure until you get there because the capacity has been reduced.

I seem to recall that Castleton beat Middlebury last year and Norwich the last two years. Norwich and Middlebury maybe could of, should of beat Castleton but the result are not there. Middlebury gets to take on Castleton next Saturday and tickets are probable hard to come by unless you down to Rutland County. Perhaps the game is worth the drive down. ;)

would have suggested talking to the local lawmen, but it appears some of them were too busy on the computer!

That dosen't surprise me as I didn't see any type of security and or police at the game...:) I have a long memory :)

HAHA didn't see that. Geez...a suspect stat from Chapman?? Would not have happened if George was still filling out the sheet!! At that rate I would expect 4500 at Spartan Arena tonight;)

WillieC if any Middlebury fans want tickets to next weekend's Middlebury/Castleton game they will have to travel down the valley to Rutland or Castleton to get one. I think the Norwich/Castleton and Middlebury/Castleton games will be very competitive. Norwich will probable have a slight advantage playing in a larger ice surface where as Middlebury will play at the Rutland Mall.

Times Argus/Rutland Herald story of the Norwich/Castleton game won by Norwich 6-2. Great picture Blake Forkey of Norwich and Jonathan Lafrance of Castleton included.

One of the most exciting college hockey games at Kreitzberg Arena with 2,000+ people in attendence. Norwich had a couple of its key forwards back, Scott Schroeder and Tory Allen, which allowed the coach more options in line matchup's. Some might not agree but I actually thought Castleton goalie Arthur Hollinger had a very good game, however, Norwich forwards worked very hard to get good scoring chances and finished a number of chances. Hollinger had some great saves to keep the score down. I had seen Castleton earlier in the year at Rutland and there play is much improved. Cadets won the ECAC East regular season title with the win.

I couldn't agree more about Hollinger's performance. He was bombarded with one shot after another and as we have seen in earlier contests in the season--other goalies, with less talent than Hollinger, would have given up double digit goals. He did a fine job.:)

The whole game was great but that first period was almost as good as it gets. My only disappointment is our recent struggle with putting the puck in the goal during power plays. :(

Looking forward to being at the Berg today for the first time in a long, long time. Go Cadets!:)

Good to see the Cadets win the ECAC East again, but I'm still a little hesitant to celebrate because it seems like it's been a while since they last made it past the Frozen Four.
