The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I am with you, was sure hat was in, it squeeked past Beemers left league. No light from the goal judge though and the ref was out of position. Strange thing was that none of the Northern Players must have seen it either because they never objectd to the save.
Re: Northern Michigan @ Lake State: Battle for the Cappo Cup: Part One
Yesterday's game had the same flow to it, but Lake State didn't give Northern a 2-0 lead to end the 1st. The 5-minute major on Lake State was a rules crackdown and NMU needed to do something with it. Instead NMU takes a penalty to make it 4 on 4 and gives up a goal. I didn't like the 2nd or 3rd goal NMU gave up and then Northern just didn't have the power to come back. It is a young season yet and NMU will be growing throughout the year. I was good to see the team in-person and see some of the new faces on the team.

Chad Pietila quit the team recently, now his younger brother and prospect Blake will not be coming to NMU next fall. Too bad Pietila had to pack it in, his brother is a better player and would have helped the cats.

I've been hearing rumors this would happen for about 2 weeks now...from about 5 different people with different connections to the Pietila family and the UP in general...it seems pretty solid from the number of independent sources I've heard it from.
