Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

That's an...interesting switch.

I seriously wonder why Lerario keeps getting dressed. He gets maybe 5 shifts in the game from what I can tell/notice, why not play someone who would be more used over the full 60 minutes? Schultz at least has wheels that can be valuable.

13 this year is Selanne - Lerario doubled up to 26.

I like Schultz and I agree he skates and playmakes pretty well. He's looked the best of the non-Solow freshman forwards IMO

So should they stick with Ruck tonight or go with CP? I like the way Ruck has played. He will never be a Brad Thiessen but when he is playing well I would stick with him.

if we have any chance to get the 2nd W.. have to stick with Ruck. Not saying that gets us the W..(kids have to hustle all 3 periods & skate with UML).. just that RR gives us slightly better chance; especially after last night.

Great first period, they could have scored 3. Couple of scary turnovers. Gotta say Picking has been a good surprise this year.

Picking works really hard. Good for him. Also Ruck with some clutch saves thus far.

On a lighter note.. Teemu Selanne in the house. :)
Just saw him in the tunnel, ..taking in Jr and the sights & sounds. Nice atmosphere tonight.. hopefully we can finish strong. There is no quit with Norm Bazin teams.
Go Huskies

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

Nice to see them with HE points last night but really it was the PP that was the difference, they are looking less winded to me than last weekend but some issues in transition are costing them. 1st period seems to be pretty good 3 zone hockey and we could have scored a few more but mistakes are now costing them a bit.

BU ? not looking ahead if you lose a player to international tournaments, you have to say hopefully it's still great exposure for the NU program too and take it at face value. Still not that there are any easy pts in HE but I wish it was Maine at NU next week. Also I am not here to be liked it's an opinion that's it. I am not a Madigan fan sorry he's too cozy with his AD who isn't a hockey guy in a hockey town. Just my opinion. If you want an example of this mentality look at the abysmal NU attendance. Sadly the program is not supported by the student body and it should be. That should be part of what an AD needs do to keep his job, to promote the only sports team that has any hope of ever generating revenue for the university and JM needs to also be an advocate for the program beyond the W's and L's. Cronin understood this and giving reached an all time high during his short tenure. The top supporters of the program are all going to retire within the next 10 years. Think about it! Without a fan base to write checks like they do at BC and BU how we can't catch up. Let's face it NU has never had a huge fan base or number of supporters post graduation but it had enough to make a slight difference year in and year out.

Lowell kills of their 3rd (i think).. 5x3 tonight.. very impressive.
OTOH.. we need to have faster crisper passes to capitalize. Just very tentative.

I've never seen 4 5 on 3's for the same team in the same game.

All have been long too. We are so bad on the power play tonight. Let's get one here

Gross.

Lowell fully deserves any points they get out of this game for their defensive play this game.
