Northeastern Huskies 2015-2016 Part Duex: Enjoy the Ride at the Gahden Party!

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2015-2016 Part Duex: Enjoy the Ride at the Gahden Party!

Just ran a scenerio with NU losing Friday night at get the last spot. The Big 10 is the big problem for NU, need Michigan to win it. WCHA need Michigan Tech. if these 2 do not win the championships then NU will need to win.

So I'm thinking seriously about flying to Boston for the Garden Party but more than 30 hours have passed since the kids qualified and I can't find a single stinking word about it on any of the NU websites. It's not even listed on the events calendar. I'd much prefer to buy through NU rather than deal with TM and its egregious service fees.

This is just flat-out unsatisfactory, IMO.

Huskies jump 6 spots and are ranked for the 1st time this season at #14

That's a shame. Lowell had their "tournament central" up immediately last evening as soon as it was known Providence was the opponent with game/ticket info. student deals, and pre-game headquarters (The Harp) information along with other stuff. Check it out HERE. I guess I just assume all the other schools are up on stuff like this and do the same sort of thing.

Yeah I'm thinking of making the trip to Boston for this too, and I'd like to see what the ticket situation is before going for a hotel. I called the NU ticket office today and left a voicemail, haven't heard back. Information on the NU tickets website for this is TBA. Does anyone know how this has worked in the past? Is it usually hard to get tickets for this before the game at the box office? The way it works for the MAC tournament in Cleveland is you can buy general tickets at the box office or each team has a table in the lobby and you can buy in their section. Just wondering how much I need to plan ahead here.

Totally unacceptable, but par for the Northeastern Course. A friend emailed the Athletic Dept last week about the lack of social media coverage for Men's Hockey as opposed to B-Ball etc... He got a semi-canned response back pointing out several outlets where NU Athletics had promoted the program. It's really a shame. Ok, maybe it was tough to get something up on GONU.com over the weekend, but by now it should be plastered all over the NU website with links to the game, tickets, pre-game events etc. Just typical.... What's the over/under on how many minutes Peter Roby will stay at the pre-game hockey event, assuming he shows up and there is an event??? O/U 20mins? Actually hope he does show up and folks approach him with some questions. A little pre-game entertainment as he recoils in horror, then attacks the person like a junkyard dog when someone asks him to explain just about anything regarding himself or the direction of the program.

Lowell's sections in the Garden for the weekend are Sections 2-3 in the Loge and 302 in the Balcony, that was known to us early yesterday evening via their "tournament central" link I noted a couple of posts earlier. Each team is assigned its own core sections like Lowell has but of course there are tickets available elsewhere in the bowl by just going to Ticketmaster of the Garden box office. On the day of games, there aren't tables for each team in the lobby as you've either bought through the school in the pre-assigned section allotments, Ticketmaster, and in person at the box office. I have walked up and had no problem getting a ticket both days at the Garden box office.

Again can't believe NU is behind the 8-ball like this. Lowell's a well-oiled machine by this point down to putting the graphic for this weekend and ticket information on the big screen at Tsongas as soon as the BU game was over Saturday along with all the web and social media stuff that's been out for almost two days now.

..well you guys are the HE tourney Champions 2 of the last 3 so totally got it down. Well done.
At NU Athletics (especially when it comes to the hockey).. its learn as you go. Anyway, that aside.. the team displayed a lot of poise in front of 4500+ each night on the road at ND.. hopefully will serve them well this Friday. Go NU!

That's too bad, hopefully they get their act together as Friday is a lot of fun between all the pregaming in the area around the Garden to the actual games. You're just trapped inside the Garden as no readmittance but beer is sold unlike the NCAAs!

I haven't posted on here in forever, but just wanted to stop by and say congrats to NU on the remarkable turnaround and keep it up! I still follow from afar so just know that you guys have at least few fans here in Colorado who will be cheering for NU like crazy Friday night.

As I recall, the Lowell box office was actually this "on it" the first year of the current Garden-going run. Emails sent out within minutes of securing the Garden spot, website updated with info, etc. The folks over there are really good about getting the word out and working with people with whatever they need.

Actually, now that I'm realizing, I didn't have season tickets that first year, so my experience only goes back to the second season.

Re: Northeastern 2015-16: Hobey Roy Kenobi and the Freshman Force

From JerryP266 a few months back:
"I've heard these arguments before, I think Cronin and staff were better recruiters than this staff. Which is why I posed the question about maybe evaluating that person. The head assistant is in charge of recruiting."

Wondering if you still feel this way about the guy who recruits? By chance have you seen the class that is coming in next season? If not you might want to get some info because your quote above is a little baffling. The current Junior class isn't to shabby and their is maybe a kid or two in the senior class that has done pretty well at NU. Might be crazy to think that the freshman and sophomores on the current roster seem to be developing quite nice. I couldn't disagree more on how this staff has and is doing on the recruiting front.
