Northeastern Huskies 2013-14 Season Thread II: In Witt we Trust

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2013-14 Season Thread II: In Witt we Trust

This was not a W.. but their Beanpot final against BC was outstanding effort. Of course they had to pull Witt being down with couple left.. but back & forth.. all gm against seasoned opponent.. that was a great game!.. super effort.

We all know Huskies01 agenda and Rossi's for that fact. Both predicted under 10 win seasons, team has 19 wins, and a bubble NCAA tournament team. No one will argue you 2 about the fact the team shot themselves in the foot. But its just exhausting to listen to you too constantly harp on the same facts. We know, you guys are trying to say that you really weren't wrong and that NU was the luckiest team in the NCAA this year. Witt was better than anyone thought. We know, lets all say it; you guys are wicked smart. You guys are complaining about this 19 win season as much as you did about last season's 9 wins. Something is wrong with that.

You asked for the premier win of the season, why? Are you making a scrapbook for the team? NO, you want to say there aren't any.

I was just wondering what others thought. 19 wins, which one stands out? 92% chance the season is over, so time to reflect. IF I thought there were not any, I would not have named one myself.

But if you cannot come up with one. That is cool too. I know you barely pay attention to what goes on.

I was going to say the same thing to Rossi. Let us have a little fun and do some speculating. There is still a chance we get to see at least one more game and let us have fun. It was a great year that can still continue. Lets see how the weekend plays out and go from there.

BTW Rossi, are you a cubs fan? Seems like you want to dwell on the misery. Or have you not woken up from the fact that the Red Sox actually won and are in the mindset that any bad is the end of the world.

Michigan play today at 2. How about Manson being named best D in HE.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2013-14 Season Thread II: In Witt we Trust

Manson had a fine season but that's kind of a crazy award. Someone from BC had to have been better or Lowell or somewhere.

Anyway, Clay Witt's .932 save percentage is a single-season Northeastern record beating Brad Thiessen. With the defense he had in front of him that's unbelievably impressive.

I like Manson, I think he has improved greatly. But no way he is best D man in league. But congrats!

Considering the way Manson hits, you have to believe he put the fear of (your choice of deity) into more than a few puck carriers, and that counts for something.

The only reason to give Manson that award is because he is probably the hardest hitting dman in the league. But that is not what the award is for. Does anybody think of him as a lock-down type of dman? Did not think so. He runs himself out of position way to much.

But hey, good for him.

Penn State wins. NU's chances just went way up. Which means they will let us down again. Oh, well.

We needed two out of three results to break our way, and PSU beating Michigan was one of them. Now we need one of Colgate or Cornell to lose. I think we can survive one of them winning as long as the rest of the tournaments go mostly chalk.

Don't forget Minnesota State. But now that Michigan lost, the number of scenarios where we get in has gone up significantly.

I'd bet almost all of the scenarios we just lost were ones where we don't get in.

You're right, Minnesota State could fall behind us with a loss, so it looks like we need one loss out of Colgate, Cornell, or Minnesota State, and each one that loses adds an at-large spot of buffer between us and an upset tournament winner.

i can't believe it. Q or Union win and nu looks real good. now we need no outsider to win championship. Need Wisc to take care of Penn State and Minny to take out whoever they get.

odds are kind of stupid, because , Cornell and Colgate will get crushed. Beginning of week I said you guys have about a 75% chance, good luck next week

Perhaps I'm just leading myself to more disappointment, but I'm optimistic for tonight. It's not like we're looking for Huntsville to beat Minnesota, we have the "normal" scenarios.
