Re: Northeastern Hockey 2013-14 Season

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't get all the vitriol and handwringing over the postings of Huskies01. I suspect some of us are missing the point that this is a fan site and fans have opinions. It is not written anywhere that all of those opinions have to be the same. Differences of opinion, in fact, make threads like this more vital, interesting, and energized. If nothing else, those divergent opinions keep us all from dying of boredom.

As I said before, I don't often agree with this poster's positions but I defend his right to have them and express them on this thread. At least he (I assume it's a "he,") cares enough about the program to make himself heard and shell out the $$$ for game tickets at least once in awhile which, by itself, gives him more standing than an empty seat. So let's agree to disagree when we feel we must but, in so doing, stay away from the wholly inappropriate personal invective.

I feel the same way. I've had to "defend" NUSpeedRacer on a couple of occasions. I don't always agreee with him either, but there is no doubt he is a very passionate NU Hockey fan that cares about the program. Same goes for Huskies01, he also is a very passionate fan and has been so for a very long time at this point. Especially when it was hard to care at all about the program......(Bruce Crowder years).........

Anyway, can't we all just agree that Peter Roby is a BOZO? :D

Well put. Can I clone you.. :-)

Oh & Roby is off my Christmas list. ;-)

Re: Northeastern Hockey 2013-14 Season

any title ideas..? :)

All aboard the Witt Wagon!

Interesting to see that most of Maine's production comes from younger guys as well. Top 3 goal scorers (including the suspended Lomberg) are sophomores. 7 of top 10 are freshmen or sophomores. Their goalie has the ability to steal the game himself, similar to Witt. I expect a low scoring weekend, should be a great pair of games. Game 7 mindset is needed in both.

I agree on low scoring weekend.

I never know if it is an advantage or not to not have one key line you need to matchup against. I would guess ideally whomever is our #1 pairing this weekend the NU coaches will attempt to get out there against the Devin Shore line, and then from there the #2 pairing goes against which ever line seems to be running the hottest for Maine. I think it can help not having to match up as much because it takes some mental stress that you have to go through in keeping track of who is out there away, on the other hand, easier to lose focus if you do not think the other guy is a threat.

Re: Northeastern Hockey 2013-14 Season

It would be fun to make the Frozen Four in Philly wit Witt

There you go, you just jinxed the Huskies. But, you are correct, it would be great wouldn't it.

BTW, I have an xtra ticket for the FF. If NU does get there, I wonder how much I can get for it.;)

Re: Northeastern Hockey 2013-14 Season

Couldn't do it Wittout him

I like this a lot. So simple yet it's the first time I saw it.

Fun stats released by College Hockey Inc: NU freshmen have third most points in the country (Behind BC/Sacred Heart) and fifth most goals. Witt has 6th best national save % since the break at .940, 2nd in HE after Demko. FWIW, Ouellette from Maine is at .937.
