Brrr! The offense is making ordinary goalies look like all-stars. After the first game win over Holy Cross, the haven’t Scored more than 3 goals in a game (not counting ENs). The team has players with solid scoring histories from the juniors (mostly USHL), but they can’t seem to help each other to convert the grade A opportunities available. It might help if they’d shoot more. The Defense is decent, but if they give up more than two goals, the game is probably lost. Tonight would be an ideal time to score 4 or more.Welp! Looks like it's going to be a long, cold winter. Dropping like a rock in the NPI.
Lemay would help if he can return and go full tilt. In early December, we were told that he was week to week. Apparently, the coaches were misinformed. Not just the paucity of offense. Defenseless is, unfortunately, not an overstatement. The continuing absence of Joachim Lemay has been disastrous but can't be the whole story.
Yeah, it’s been a rough watch so far. The lack of finish is really glaring — plenty of chances, but no killer instinct. You’re right that the defense is holding up reasonably well, but this team just can’t afford to chase games if they fall behind by more than a goal or two. Shooting more and getting traffic in front might be the simplest fix, even if it’s not pretty. Hopefully tonight they finally break through and put together a complete offensive game.Brrr! 1000% agree. Unlike hoops, officials decide very few hockey games, and that's the way it should be. The Eiserman thing was 50/50 at best and the no-call was totally consistent with the standard set for the game up to that point. FWIW, Billy Jaffee on the telecast also agreed with the no-call. All of that being said, my soul still aches....despite the loss, had absolutely no issue with officiating. Yes, maybe there should have been something called on Eiserman crashing into Zacher that way, but they let the players decide the game,..
