I appreciate your spirit but you need to know that the longtime informal name for the Huskies is the Hounds (not Dawgs), as in Huntington Hounds. So named by the late Joe Concannon, then the Globe college sports beat writer during the run to the Final Four in 1982.

Our last 3 games are at home, and barring a letdown, the opening playoff series will be too. Let's keep up the momentum! Dominant win last night. Great to see us out shoot our opponent by 30 and not lose (I shudder when I think of Bentley)

He hurt his leg (I think broke it) in the Notre Dame series way back. I've seen him around campus walking around without a boot or anything, so as far as I can tell he's fine and isn't dealing with complications or anything of that nature.

"Lower body injury". When it occurred, it appeared to be in the area of the knee. I don't believe it was a broken leg. Glad to hear that he is getting around easily. It will be nice to have him for an extra year.

Locked into the 6 seed. Now we wait and see who is 11 and 3. As good as we have looked, we have beaten a lot of very bad teams and it's still going to be an uphill battle to get to the Garden. Nice to see them at least make the next couple weeks interesting. Good to see Roy find his game and Nolan Stevens has become a very,very good player. He could grow into a great player by the end of his 4 years.

The 2nd half of the year's hallmark has been the improved play of McMurtury (who was awful in the first 1/3 of the year) and the forecheck-- it takes opps so much effort to even get it out of their zone. Roy was stickhandling like a champ and has such great vision. It seems like refs are out to get Kurker...he's physical for sure. Cockerill nets another and had the 2nd hardest slap to Sauce. Let's show up for the playoffs and see what happens. I'm ok with seeing UMass, Maine or UConn.... #GoNU

..even though I am enjoying this (string of Ws).. the problem will not be the first round of playoffs.. the problem will arise how the team handles their top 4 opponent from HE (assuming we make it there).
That's when Madigan is usually in ..way over his head. Team will need to step up big to get to the Garden. Can they do it.. absolutely. Will they do it.. well, history says no. These guys will have to fight through that & just go out & have fun. Again, if Coaches had them prepared for slightly better start.. we wouldn't be debating because they belong in the NCAAs & would be a fun team to watch.. now that we have decent goaltending.. but that start.. that record hangs over them like a dagger. Having said that.. keep it going team! (fingers crossed).

As someone already noted, they're locked into 6th. Nothing that happens next weekend will affect that. So it will be interesting to see if they rest some of the big boys and play some of the fringe players in one or both games. Maybe appearances by DRoy and/or Theut?

Any way to know where you'd be in pwr if you beat bentley instead of losing twice? 16-11 would look pretty good in the best league in the country this year even if you haven't beaten the iron of the league.

Asking"What if?" about past games while a season is still continuing is counter-productive, annoying and useless. Wait until the season is over to play that gnawing game. We lost to Bentley twice - deal with it. We may be at the point where we can look forward and ask "What if?" For example, an easy question is "What if we win the Hockey East championship?" Well, then we go to the NCAAs. Everybody knows that. But, the harder question is "What if we run the table against Maine and throughout the playoffs (sweeping each multigame series 2-0, not just winning them) and make it to the championship game of the HE playoffs and lose?" Would that be enough to garner an at-large bid to the NCAAs based on the PWR? I think it might be unless more than one conference tournament of a multi-bid league is won by a non-top-16 team (apologies for all of the hyphens). So, let's run the table (as we have almost done so far in 2016) and then do the math once we get to the Garden.
