Re: Northeastern 2012-2013 Season Thread: A New Hope

How many years has it been since Northeastern & Harvard met in the final?..

answer: apparently not enough.. so we'll both add another.

On another note, just read on Husky News, we lose another d-man to injury (Ellement) out 4-6 wks. Forget the Beanpot.. let's survive UNH first.. then worry about our opponent Monday. I think they'll both score some goals on us.

Anyone still think the Eibler defection wouldn't have much of an impact?

..no kidding.

The last Lowell gm (4 unanswered goals in the 3rd & OT).. pretty much summed it up. The inexperience on 'D' going into the Beanpot & beyond will ensure a quick & fitting end to the season. Tough break for Ellement as Senior, gluck to him.

Boy I wish they would go back to week 1 of beanpot times of 6 and 9.

i know the 5:00 start is brutal for those that work outside the city (even those inside the city) but for that 2nd game puck wouldn't drop till 9:30 usually

How about we push it a half hour back to match the half hour forward of the Consolation game? 5:30 anyone?

Between BU playing in Amherst tomorrow and the early game on Monday I have to be way more productive than I'd like to be at work today.

On a lighter note.. (before the brutal wknd).. caught this on Nesn durng the BU gm, not sure how many saw it.. :)

Good matchup against the talented Wildcats tonight. Thought we played them well in our two previous outings.. that first gm at Whittemore we should have won (least tied).. but after the recent Lowell series.. what's new?.. we can't hold a lead.

I thought we played them much better in the 0-0 tie at Matthews last.. (somehow, something tells me this game will not go scoreless :) ). Our 'D' is inexperienced.. but we go with what we got.

Is Rawlings rested already?.. who is in net tonight? Does it matter?.. G'luck. Go Huskies :)

Re: Northeastern 2012-2013 Season Thread: A New Hope

Just a quick question. Looking to get to a game at Matthews and trying to choose between UVM and Providence. I know atmosphere has been lacking but what game you guys think would be the best take? They also got BU in March but it will be while students are on break, probably making the atmosphere even more abysmal.

Re: Northeastern 2012-2013 Season Thread: A New Hope

Okay, we lost 3-1 tonight.. but some positives. We hung in most of the gm. Had a couple go off the post.. outplayed UNH in the 1st & parts of the 3rd period. We just could not finish. More seasoned team won, no question.. but it was a close game all gm.

I also liked our discipline.. just one penalty all gm (or was it 2?)..pretty good. The last 2 mins with Rawlings pulled.. so many chances. Credit to DeSmith he played very well for the Wildcats. Also some nifty shot blocking by their 'D'.

I think if we put in similar effort Monday.. (back to back ain't gonna happen i know).. we migh be able to make a game of it Monday. Oh & besides the 2nd goal, which i believe Rawlings should have had.. he actually looked.. pretty okay. Nice effort team. :)

OMG, por favor, no mas! Northeastern you are so fing positive all the time you would have called Huricane Katrina just a cloudy day. Not winning 10 games is a sad, situation.

Re: Northeastern 2012-2013 Season Thread: A New Hope

.. i know Rossi. Glass half full kinda guy.. gotta get back to that, time to time. :)
Did i mention.. we outshot 'em 2 to 1..
our forwards looked sluggish to finish plays.. 'D' not so much for a change..

THERE IS A SIGN. A GIANT SIGN. It's been there for 15+ years. It's said the same thing every single day.

It always amazes me when people get that wrong. But hey, he is showing that NU education ;)
