Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Yes- You and the those that made the bracket agree Miami # 1, MC #2!! That's how it still works, right!?

I'm interested to see who actually gets the most fans three.. UNH or MC? MC for a small school had a great show of support in Boston & may actually be a few miles closer to Manch-vegas than UNH is.

Sounds obvious, yes, but I think you'd find quite a few people who would say UMD (a #3) is the favorite in Bridgeport. As for the fans, my guess is that UNH will have more, but MC's will be louder. UNH will still get a lot of casual fans from the Manchester area in addition to the ones in Durham who make the trip, but I think MC's fans are gonna be so jacked up for the team's first NCAA appearance in 20-whatever years that they'll easily win the noise battle.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

The important question I want to know is if the NCAA will allow Merrimack to have their song played over the PA system and if the UNH fans will get their panties in a bunch like they did this weekend at the Garden.

Don't lump me in!

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Federal- Maybe UMD coming from the west does looks good- but watch out for those Flying Dutchmen!!

I don't doubt that MC will be very loud! I only hope that UNH's crowd is also up for making it entertaining as well. It makes for a great atmsphere!! I can't wait to see UNH and MC go at it for a bid to the FF!(although, I'll have to watch on TV).:(

Expected to watch BC this weekend, but could be a Hockey East regional final. UNH can beat Miami, they showed that early in the year. A lot of folks will say, "that UNH team is not this UNH team" and that's true, UNH is playing like **** right now . . . but, I would also say that a lot people expected Miami to blow UNH out both nights back in October. The Redhawks were a senior-heavy and battle tested team, and there were a lot of questions marks surround the Wildcats. It will be interesting to see how UNH fares; I really just hope they play well - haven't seen that in a while.

In regards to tickets: somebody was asking about one-day sales; they usually release single day tickets later this week.

Also, have one extra ticket with our group (somebody backed out). Section 109, row 10 or so. $60 for the weekend. We're obviously UNH fans, but don't have a problem sitting / talking hockey with anybody else, as long as you're not drunk and obnoxious!

This is great for UNH. Another tournament, and I am glad they are not opening with Merrimack. They need a good first game to get the confidence they'll need to beat Merrimack. And thank God BC went west.

Bummer that you have to travel so far to see your Eagles

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

I think that the Cats have the rest of Div 1 teams right where we want 'em. We have come to play in the regionals the past two years as a lower seed, just could not handle having the upper seed against RIT in Albany for a trip to the FF.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Anyone know how to get the USA hockey Offer Code to save some $$ for tix?

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

The same Notre Dame team that beat BC earlier this year? If Merrimack is overlooking them as much as their fans that's just hilarious.

I don't think Merrimack's coach, players or fans will overlook Notre Dame. The post that Merrimack can "take ND easily" I also think is wrong. I don't think there will be anything easy about it.

However, regarding BC... ND's 2-1 win over the Eagles on October 23 is about as relevant as Merrimack's 4-2 and 5-3 wins over BC in October and November: not very. The Eagles have improved quite a bit since then (although the Warriors have also, I'd argue) and have the recent experience of having seen BC's game in a very touch championship match.

I've no idea how Merrimack matches up against ND, and the transitive property doesn't apply to hockey anyway. If it did, though, Merrimack has also has wins against BC about as old as ND's, so there's not much to be made of it.

Should be a great game, looking forward to it.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Anyone else "thrilled" about having the game on Sunday at 8PM? ***......I don't see a good reason for that one....sorry, TV or no TV, that's just stupid.....I guess the talk about drawing a good crowd went out the window here!
