Gophers are the North Star Cup champs! As it should be. Would have liked to get the win in regulation or OT, but if we have to have shootouts, I'll take it.

Great tournament and a great 4 games. Reminds me why the WCHA was so great...

One of the few games all year where the Gophers seemed outmatched. Shots 42-27 UMD but it felt like a UMD domination the 3rd period and OT. Overall, Wilcox played great though and enabled his team to take it to a shootout where the skill of Minnesota took over.

Congratulations to all of the officials on the incredible tie for Duluth. Well earned, boys! My father is an official. He's incredibly proud.

Shootouts suck arse!

What a crappy way to end a great tourney. Was a good game to watch until the refs got in the way.

When they have a tourney like this, why can't they go with OT until someone wins? While it is nice to have the Gophs get the first cup, it is still a tie.

I hadn't realized UMD's position in the PWR heading into the weekend. The result tonight pushed them up into a tournament position. A big weekend for the Bulldogs not just for state pride but also with postseason implications.

A very entertaining game tonight. The ref's did their best to ruin it. That was the worst officiating I have seen this season.
Hats off to Duluth on a very strong performance.

A great finale for the first North Star Cup. Hopefully this tournament grows into something special. Time will tell, but I have my doubts.

Just out of curiosity and too lazy to look up, but what do they do at the Beanpot tourney after regulation tie?

I'm very concerned whether they ever caught that sniper. I was looking far any police activity as I left the X. I hope all the Bulldogs who were hit by him are OK.
