North Dakota Fighting Sioux vs Maine Black Bears, Friday

Re: North Dakota Fighting Sioux vs Maine Black Bears, Friday

In what you'd have to consider a down year across D-1, I figured this NoDak team was top 5 for sure, but if defense & goaltending is supposed to be this team's strength, they could be in for a tougher season than I thought...
The blown 5-1 lead at Anchorage turned me off UND in the first poll (when I picked them 14th), and Sioux backers decided that uncreative insults would be a good way to nudge their team up the polls. I bumped NoDak up to No. 7 last week on the strength of their sweep and unbeaten record, but boy, I hope the UND fans have their keyboards primed for my next ballot.

They don't pay you for this nonsense do they?

Would it be premature to talk about your vote before the weekend is complete, let alone this game?

Having managed a national college hockey poll I dislike when pollsters bump teams up and down based on a single performance instead of looking at the overall strength of the team.

What was that about tackling the goalie?

Seriously....nobody calls it "Our little Fenway Park in Orono..."

A) You may not abide by it as a personal philosophy, but that's why it's a poll, and not a one-man ballot. There are a lot of ways to vote, as I mentioned in my last ECAC blog entry.

B) Every game still counts. If this happened at the end of a 20-game winning streak, the team probably wouldn't fall far. But in Game 5, that's 20 percent of your season they just sleep-walked through. The Sioux are going to tumble, and not just on my list.

Jeez, the game isn't even over yet, and Maine now seems to be asleep.

Way to be a self-serving ******, Brian. You obviously have a personal vendetta against the Sioux.

After you ranked North Dakota 14th to start out the season, you lost pretty much all credibilty in the terms of pretty much every Sioux fan. I understand you have a pretty strong bias, and will probably drop the Sioux from your rankings altogether based on tonight's game. Saying that, I don't really care. The only thing you've done tonight is show that you're immature. You're so giddy from the fact that the Sioux are having a bad game you can't control yourself to come in here and post. For some strange reason you feel that 1 bad game justifies your rediculous rankings. I hope you continue to follow North Dakota this season and keep chiming in during game threads, but I'm almost positive you won't (just as I'm sure you wouldn't be posting in this thread if the score was reversed tonight).

North Dakota is much better than how they are playing tonight.

That was a stupid penalty.
