North Dakota at UNO - 1-30/1-31 - The biggest series in UNO program history

Re: North Dakota at UNO - 1-30/1-31 - The biggest series in UNO program history

They should. So why didn't UNO sweep CC? You are smack talking about North Dakota only getting 4 of 6 points against UNO, but UNO only got 3 of 6 against the laughingstock of the league, who up to that time were 0-8-1.

Players are going to be more motivated for certain games. In previous seasons, there was no reason for North Dakota players to care about games against UNO. So UNO fans citing the fact that the team has done well against North Dakota is kind of meaningless.
CC didn't look like a conference doormat this weekend. I got to see the games in person, and the difference between CC now and when UND played them last fall was night and day. If they continue to buy into the new coach, they will be tough the rest of this year. I'm glad we got the 4 wins when we did. Other teams won't be as fortunate.

A) Put the laptop down bro, step away from the screen. I don't think I'm smack talking at all about anything. Some UND dude calls UNO "terrible" "inferior", etc. My response? If we are THAT terrible, and yet we mustered a tie AT UND, what does that make UND? I've been told the players decided to give a gift to UNO - very nice of them. Hopefully that costs them the Cup.
B) I agree, players don't always get up for every game. I would say that happened with UNO because I don't believe CC is as good of a team this year as UNO. I don't think the same can be said about what happened at Ralph earlier in the year. I don't think UND is head and shoulders better than UNO this year. If they didn't get up for UNO, too bad for them. We're now #1 in the conference. Who's fault is that?
C) Concerning previous seasons, are you suggesting that every game that UND has beat UNO, it was because they were the superior team and should've, yet every game that UNO has won against UND is simply because UND overlooked UNO?

These are usually good games. If one team wins the weekend it will have the inside track to the Penrose. Both teams are currently looking good for the NCAA tournament. I can hear the rolling coolers starting to head down I-29.

As for there being no radio or TV ads for the series, I'd also add that it's not 1999.

Have fun, everybody.

I know it's the calling card of message boards to get a rise out of people and bait them. Sorry, not taking it.

Good thing you didn't take the bait.

With UNO having so little and UND having so much, it probably was for the best that the UND players gave UNO that single extra point. And if that single point makes the difference at the end and UNO finally gets to remove the cobwebs from their empty trophy case, good for them! Sure the only reason they even have the trophy is because they won a silly sideshow skills competition, but when you're the Inferior Mavs I guess you take what you can get. I just hope they don't break the key off in the rusty lock trying to open case.

Well of course UMD isn't going to jump either UND or UNO. The Bullpuppies actually lost to the Inferior Mavs. How embarrassing is that?

We also beat the good Mavs! What's going to happen when UND loses one of the games to UNO? That will be mighty embarrassing for the almighty "Committee to Decide who is on the Name Committee" ones.

Mighty big talk from a guy whose team just lost to the worst team in the "State of Hockey".

You're assuming that we have a trophy case.

Indeed. Perhaps should UNO win the Penrose and sans a trophy case, it could just be stored between Captain Gaptooth's smile.

I just think it's great that UNO has college hockey. Good for them. Hopefully, they will be able to keep the program afloat for a while.

I just wish we could trade uno for mankato or tech... obviously my attempts to get st cloud traded were in vain.

I hope that's a joke and people aren't that ignorant on purpose. UNO has ranked in the top 5 consistently in attendance for D1 hockey. We will be in a new barn next fall that seats 8,000 and will consistently sell out.

Not surprised.

:) Sometimes you just jump in the canoe for a little paddle out by that patch of reeds off the point, hoping to see a few egrets and maybe catch a nice sunset. You put a line out just because it's there and BOOM!, you're wondering why you left the net in the boathouse.

Don't you mean lost to eventual state champion? Hockey is good in this state any team could win. They beat might tUMD and the number one team in the nation in the Good Mavs.
