Or maybe he is suffering from crippling depression and figured Grand Forks would be a great place to end it all.

Which is why he's looking to become one of Rocco's Disciples. He followed the path of Chubbs and realized it was a horrible path, so now he's looking towards Rocco for guidance and discipline. This really isn't as complicated as you are making it.

He became fat, drunk and stupid while at SCSU. To rectify this transgression he transferred to UND to be under the tutelage of Rocco. Sounds pretty simple to me. Stop over-complicating it.

Rocco is adverse to lady bare skin. It's pure conjecture on your part whether or not Rocco is adverse to guy bare skin. From what we currently know your theory is based upon a premise that is at best a half-truth. While my theory is based upon the fact that Tyler Arnason was Fat, Drunk and Stupid. Perhaps you should refrain from postulating theories until you have some sort of evidence to back them up.

Tyler Arnason also played here a decade ago, if he has any influence on Mitch, then Mitch is dumber than I thought.
But hey if Mitch wants to follow a midget with an aversion to bare skin, that's his choice, dumb as it may be.

Aren't we judgmental today! At least you've given up the pretense that Mitch is fat and drunk though, so we're making progress. Soon you'll admit he isn't stupid either and we'll be back where we started.

Well let's see, he left complaining of playing time and he's not likely to play there at all so there's the supid part.
Since he won't be playing and there is nothing to do there, fat and drunk won't be far behind.

The question isn't 'will Rocco win the Hobey Baker?' It's 'How many will he win, and will they rename the award after him?'
