Monday morning, I was scraping ice off the car window at 5:30; by late afternoon it was 65[SUP]o[/SUP] F.
One thing that is really interesting (to me, anyway) is watching the progression of sunrise. Several weeks ago, right after the time change, the sun was rising just as the train crossed the East River, every day since, it rises a bit earlier. It is actually starting to get light out now by the time I board my connecting train, and that is just in the past week or so.
How long is your commute?
Door-to-door, a little over 2-1/2 hours, though part of that time includes either working on the train, or sleeping, so that it is "dual purpose" time so to speak.
3 minutes to local train station
15 minute ride to connecting station for main line
10 minute wait between connection arrival and main line departure
1 hr 50 minute ride to GCT
I work remotely on Fridays.
15 minute walk to office
Daffodils starting to open, nascent flowers starting to bud on forsythia. Spring is starting to poke its nose above ground, finally.
Memo to Bob Gray, please don't start complaining about the 90[SUP]o[/SUP] weather....or at least, not yet.
When we lived in Wyoming, our joke was, "we have four seasons, just like everyone else, it's just that we have different names for them here: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] of July."
