NMU travels to Alaska (Fairbanks), November 1 and 2

Re: NMU travels to Alaska (Fairbanks), November 1 and 2

So what's up with Seckel? That dude is not right in the head. During warm ups he tried knocking over the cowbells in front of us that we had sitting on the boards, like he blatantly came over and threw himself in to the boards and then hit pucks at the boards in front of us each time. Then during our introductions he skated around in front of the student section while the rest of his team stood on the blue line.

I've had MSU players try shoot pucks at us through a gap between the top of the glass and the bottom of the net... It happens... Be glad you got into his head...

As for the intro skate, maybe he wanted to stay loose? That might be a legit reason...

Seckel is the one guy on NMUs team that almost always plays with abandon. I just got done watching the VOD of last nights game: Can't remember what period it was, but Seckel gets out of the penalty box and skates full speed across the ice and throws a full-force check into some Nanook--fortunately he didn't get penalized again. The guy is spit and vinegar and even though he takes some crazy penalties, I'm glad we have him on our team for the constant energy he exudes. As for the pre-game and introduction, he's probably so wound up and in the zone that he isn't conscious of what he's doing. And who doesn't hit pucks against the boards and try to knock off a few cowbells? ;)

Most teams* have one or two pests. Best way to shut them up is to win the game.

* = except the Nanooks. All our guys are angels.

Well I just wasn't too fond of him trying to knock them down when my two year old was upset over it each time. He should have done it over at the student section if anything. That wasn't cool.

Well, to be fair here, you really shouldn't rest things on the inside of the boards to begin with... Apparently Blackhawks players at the United Center get a kick out of spraying beers all over the idiots that pay $500 for the 1st row seats...

Not gonna argue over it because it is a silly topic. Just wanted to mention how odd Seckels behavior was because I had never seen any opposing player act that weird.

True story. I'm pretty sure all NHL'ers do that. It's fun to see done at AHL Wolves games too. I personally witnessed guys "check" someone into the boards, miss who they were aiming for, and knock over a beer or three in the process. :D

I got into WMU's heads in '04 with a couple signs. One was the WMU logo = picture of Elmers glue. Another was a sign politely reminding Lil'issimo the water bottle was tethered. Their team didn't like the signs. Especially the glue.

Getting into their heads is fun. :D

I think I may still have the glue sign somewhere :) my favorite was my "the net is over there -->" sign when they'd hit the glue sign
