NMU Offseason Thread - 2014 Edition

Re: NMU Offseason Thread - 2014 Edition

Some late breaking news developed tonight over Twitter: One of NMU Hockey's strongest supporters will be leaving the area. Mining Journal Sports Editor Matt Wellens will be moving on at the end of the month to a new job in Duluth, Minnesota. Along with the gaping void that will be created in the Mining Journal for NMU sports, he will not be returning to writing about the WCHA for USCHO.

Re: NMU Offseason Thread - 2014 Edition

Rob Lehtinen has been promoted to assistant coach replacing Joe Shawhan.

*bump*

40 days until the 'Cats take on the Badgers at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

Been awfully quiet since the coaching changes were announced. Lots of other activity around the WCHA from teams, but NMU has been silent.

I think Walt likes it that way.

Took a peek into the BEC today. All new banners for both hockey and hoops hanging at the blue lines and the walls are repainted green & yellow along with the press box. Looks very good. Nicely done by the Athletic Department. Looking forward to a great season.

I happened to be at the Berry last Friday watching an old timers tournament game and saw the improvements. It does look good.

Any online pics? If not, how about taking a few?

Looking forward to the season as well.

Here's a glimpse of the banners off of the NMU Hockey Twitter page. You can't really see the paint job from this side. I was so delighted to see the improvements I didn't think to pull out my phone and grab a pic or two. *******http://t.co/x7Ar0CE6yx********
