NMU Offseason: Forget bikes, we're stealing a Karr...

Re: NMU Offseason: Forget bikes, we're stealing a Karr...

Can't say I know enough info but no Dallas Drake?

Personally, I would put him just below Mount Rusmore level. In terms of impact to the NMU program, I might lump him with Bill Pye, Darryl Olsen, John Goode, Bill Schafhauser, Mark Beaufait, and to include a couple recent players, Mark Olver and Erik Gustafsson.

Of course if you weigh heavily the NHL connection, my NMU "Mount Rushmore" would be Tom Laidlaw, Steve Bozek, Dallas Drake and Steve Weeks.

Short article and Q & A feature on Forrest Karr in the Summer issue of Northern Horizons, which I received today. He seems like a good fit for NMU. Hope he has a good run at NMU!

Word from Boston is that now former Northeastern DMan Luke Eibler is headed to NMU. Not great but a very solid player if rumor is true.

When you score 80 points in a season and are named the WCHA "Defensive Forward" of the Year, that certainly puts you in the Rushmore category.

Just under 2 more months....

Safe travels to anyone heading back to campus over the next few weeks...

How's NMU's roster looking now that school is starting. I hear Doan (goalie) is in town, which is good news. Any other freshman confirmed?

How many of you plan on heading to Green Bay for the UW-Madison series? I for one am pumped to get to see my Wildcats reasonably close to home. Hopefully they come and play big.

Hey Davyd, I was unable to catch the Walt Kyle portion of the Coach's show on Tuesday. Any interesting points? Also, is the other frosh goalie Dahlstrom in town?

Re: NMU Offseason: Forget bikes, we're stealing a Karr...

Looks like a short roster of only 26 active players. Perhaps there will be some walk-ons this season?
Despite the short bench, seems like a solid core group with Thurber, Follmer, Vigier, Seckel & MacCaulay.
Lindores and Rose also seem like strong recruits....good scorers.
I think Thurber will have a breakout year....he kind of got railroaded at UW and has put that behind him.
I bet UW wishes they'd have kept him.
