NMU Hockey 2012-2013 Season Thread

On any given night...
Didn't see a new season thread, so I started this.

If there's one out there I missed, I will delete.

Nice win last night to begin the season. Must have been a pretty evenly played game.

I'm sure Wisconsin will be all over it tonight.

Go 'Cats!

Did not watch the game, but it looks like the 'cats must have combined a good offensive and defensive effort.

Any reports from those of you who attended the game(s)?

We didn't look great in the first period of either game, but our 3rd period was amazing both nights. Coreau and the D played excellent both nights. As for the offense the freshman stepped up, and scoring was pretty well spread out. They also managed to outshoot the Badgers both nights. Northern did a really good job keeping the penalties in check, only taking 5 penalties and killing four of them (80% PK). If they play like this next weekend I'd expect the same results.

The fact that this thread is consistently on the back pages makes me sad. What up Wildcats? Has your passion faded into a pale pasty shadow of the formerly vibrant and Jagermeister filled past? This is kind of like looking at a cold pasty sitting in a viscous puddle of brown and overly-salted gravy.

For whatever reason, the number of fans on USCHO is down.... Many of the regulars still attend games and such, but talk here online has dwindled....

Adair is off to a good start and looks to be a solid addition to the lineup. Good skater, good hands and his size will help him in those scrambles in front of the net.

I got to see him in Green Bay and he looks like he could be a key contributer. I like his size and so far the college game doesn't seem to be too much for him. Of course as with all freshman I would expect periods of time this season where he disappears. Consistency is usually one of the biggest challenges for freshman.
