These two teams have met before. I believe there was one game in Marquette that ended in a 0-0 tie. But it has been a couple of years.

Just glad I will be able to catch these games on TV. Had to miss the Alaska games.

In 2010-11 we made the Bemidji trip coming off the Fairbanks trip and it was actually colder in Bemidji. We traveled on Thanksgiving Day. Dinner was at McDonald's in Hernantown,MN!

Any Cat fans coming our way this weekend? If so, let me know. Would be fun to chat between periods. I will be sporting my 1971 olive green/old gold NMU basketball letter jacket. As well, I will have my BSU basketball sweatshirt underneath. Will be tough to miss the BSU-Winona BB game Friday night but will do so for the Cats. Could be a little thin in the seats since school is not in session, BUT should be great series. Karl Salscheider, NMU '74 BS Econ/Health PE, and '78 MA Health Education

I just hope the 'Cats can put their first half troubles behind them and make a nice run in the second half of the season. Hopefully the time off helped heal any nagging injuries, and gave the boys time to improve the PP and PK.

Too much standing around on the PP; even if they make little circles in the same spot, the guys should always have their feet moving. Makes it easier to get after the puck/play when you're already moving. Physics and all that.

I hope the injury bug has left Bemidji's locker room. The last couple of series, they have had to use a d-man to fill out their forward lines.

Can't wait to watch some hockey tomorrow night. Just will have to be on my couch rather than at the Sanford Center.... :(

Dress not only warm but safe if you're coming. I'm afraid the temp, not the score, will again be what is remembered in a couple years...

Friday and Saturday afternoon are supposed to be decent, at least compared to what we have been having and what is coming. But it all drops off the cliff Sunday through Tuesday. So much so that the Governor or Minnesota has ordered all schools closed on Monday!

Very good weekend for NMU. Just what they needed coming off a lengthy break. I sure wish the team was not idle next weekend, it would be nice to keep some momentum going.

Gaining a little ground in the standings and still having games in hand on most of the teams is huge. Nine games at home and seven on the road left. Put that momentum in a bottle and open it up on January 17.

I was really hoping that the time off during break would have help rejuvenate the Beavers some since they did not have a bye week the whole first half of the season. They seemed to have energy for one period each night, but just completely fell apart the other two. Some of that can be attributed to NMU, but you still have to work hard to get into your system.

Another concern for me is the Beaver goaltending, which has always been a strong point. Walsh just doesn't look as sharp this year as he did the last two. Wilkins has shown some promise but then got burned by some fluky goals on Friday.

It also seemed like the d-men were out of position a lot this weekend. That doesn't help the goalies at all.

Doesn't get any easier for the Beavers with a trip to Lake State followed by a home and home with North Dakota.
