He seems nice.

I've had some run-ins with unfriendlies simply due to my Obama sticker* in 2012. A couple people helpfully attempted to drive me off the road. Oddly enough when I drove the car without a sticker this never happened.

Last week I answered a knock at the door and a guy said he was installing windows in the area and would I like a quote? I was very polite and told him no thanks. He then said, "Well, maybe Bernie'll give them to you for free." Hurr hurr.

* Funny story. Dr. Mrs. & I were driving in West Virginia around the last election and we took a wrong turn and wound up next to a dilapidated roadside building draped on two sides by white power, NSM and confederate flags, with a door open a crack and two heads sticking out looking at us. I was never so happy to have been driving my un-stickered car.

Lawsuit accuses Flint mayor of trying to redirect water crisis donors to campaign fund

Henderson's lawsuit alleged that Mayor Karen Weaver ordered her assistant and a volunteer to redirect donors from a local fund set up to help families affected by the water crisis to her political action committee instead.

The lawsuit charged that the city employee was "specifically directed" to instruct people "step-by-step" to donate to the mayor's "Karenabout Flint" fund through its website, rather than the Charity Safe Water/Safe Homes fund through the city's website.

Neither the Flint City Council nor the charity approved a redirection of donors, the lawsuit said.

Henderson, hired in 2015, was fired on Feb. 12, just hours after she asked Flint's chief legal counsel for a second time to investigate the concerns, according to the lawsuit, which seeks unpaid wages and other damages. She reported the allegations three days earlier, the lawsuit said.

It's part of a wrongful termination suit so we should wait. Like a bad divorce, the charges may be real, or a willful misrepresentation, or just outright fabrication.

Yes and no. Parent company is foreign, but they still are their "own" company and brew here.

Don't get me started on InBev. They ruined one of the best beers in this country this year. Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. Comes out once a year, on Black Friday. 2 of the 3 variant styles were infected this year, and now the original is found to be infected. At about $10/16oz bottle (in years past it's been about $6-7/12oz bottle)...a LOT of people are not happy.

To be fair, we don't know that. Sometimes you lose a batch. It could have happened just as easily without InBev.

If the mayor had an R after her/his name, we would never see this caveat from Kep, with a D, it's we can't rush to judgement. :p

It's Michigan. It's a city or county office. Someone with an "R" holds one of those offices?

I thought every rural county in MI was solid red?

Basically I think of MI as NY with less snow but more cold. Everything urban is blue, everything rural might as well be Mississippi, and the suburbs are blue if they're near a college and red if they're second generation immigrants who are fighting their way up the ladder.
