Re: Nice Planet IX: Oh that's just GREAT...

Maybe if they had found the WMDs, he wouldn't have charged them.

"Former President George W. Bush charged $100,000 to speak at a charity fundraiser for U.S. military veterans severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan"

They did find them. http://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles/2014/10/16/new-york-times-reports-wmd-found-in-iraq

Re: Nice Planet IX: Oh that's just GREAT...

These aren't the WMDs you're looking for.

"Conservatives may hope to exploit the New York Times report, but the article references pre-1991 weapons,” wrote Steve Benen on the MaddowBlog. “Everything Republicans said in the lead up to the 2003 invasion is still wrong. Indeed, a little common sense is in order – if U.S. troops had found WMD stockpiles, the Bush/Cheney administration would have said so. Indeed, they were desperate to do exactly that."

And a further **** you from the actual article.
The United States had gone to war declaring it must destroy an active weapons of mass destruction program. Instead, American troops gradually found and ultimately suffered from the remnants of long-abandoned programs, built in close collaboration with the West.

Re: Nice Planet IX: Oh that's just GREAT...

The goal post shifting on that one by Bush supporters (who somehow still exist) is quite funny.

If they found WMDs from 91, and we went in there because of the potential for existence of WMDs, wouldn't they have just been there for 25 years? Or is logic not really a strongpoint for the loonies?

Re: Nice Planet IX: Oh that's just GREAT...

Christmas comes early for FlagDude.

Jade Helm 15, the controversial Special Operations exercise that spawned a wave of conspiracy theories about a government takeover, will open next week without any media allowed to observe it, a military spokesman said.

Embedded reporters won’t be permitted at any point during the exercise, in which military officials say that secretive Special Operations troops will maneuver through private and publicly owned land in several southern states.

Bush and company lied saying that Saddam was making WMD's at the time when they weren't and they knew that he wasn't. If them finding over a decade old abandoned stockpiles meant anything other than a direct exposure of their lies, we would still be hearing about it daily on Fox News for how "right" republicans were. There would have been parades in the street celebrating them actually finding something they claimed when they sold the war to the public.

So no, you're wrong again, you incompetent illogical ****head.

Re: Nice Planet IX: Oh that's just GREAT...

I wonder if some of the landowners, particularly in Texas, will hold armed watches to try and "arrest" troops that trespass on their private land. If so, things could get fun.

I'm shocked Nevada didn't get on the hostile list because of the Bundy ranch. Maybe the sizable miliary force in the state allowed it to receive the classification it did.

Doing drills in the middle of the US, the troops will not likely have live rounds in their weapons but the Texans would.

It's a Catch-22 for us. If the Texans fight back, the feds declare a state of emergency, impose martial law, and all heck breaks loose. If they stand by and do nothing, the feds detemine that Texas is neutralized, and impose martial law without a fear of retaliation. The latter already worked in Boston after the marathon bombing, so they know they can get away with it.

If we don't stop this, pretty soon Texas will be under the control of the United States.

No, if the Texans fire on the soldiers or take any of them into custody, then the Army will withdraw its troops and call in the civillian authorities to have these people prosecuted. Then they'll reschedule the mission and carryout the drill as originally intended. Not everything gets turned up to 11 at a moment's notice.
