If I were a Civil War or Modern World History teacher in a local high school, I'd be inclined to speak with this guy then possibly invite him to visit my classroom, so the kids could hear his views (and see his ignorance and bigotry). It wouldn't fly with local parents or school board, of course, but it would be an interesting way to expose kids old enough to think for themselves to those attitudes, which cannot be rare in Iowa, even in its biggest city.
I grew up with a names-and-dates version of history, almost entirely devoid of context. I don't know if that was just a function of the times I grew up in or the place. But it is a pretty useless way to study history.

Sure. But now, thanks to the power and breadth of social media and the desire of people to point out his impotence, this clown gets way more notoriety and notice than he is entitled to, which then causes other clowns to take matters into their own hands, which in turn makes idiot #1 a martyr.

He looks like a Republican federal judge already.
This is a classic case where what is required is some good old community ostracism. Everybody knows who he is - he invited the scrutiny. He has to live in society so that society should just firmly turn their back on him. No saying hi in the grocery store. If he comes into your store to do business you treat him professionally but with no affect and send him quickly on his way.
And if I were a POC I'd be sure to look at him as he passes on the street. He should be visible only to those people his tiny d-cked little ideology has the desire to intimidate.
