Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

Two things:

1. I had no idea that JuCo hockey even existed. I thought the guys that couldn't make the D3 cut just quit the sport and got a degree, or the meatheads went to the SPHL or QSHL.

2. What in the actual fahk?

SI added a story to the video

Still doesn't explain too much, but it does note this is the last ever NJCAA hockey championship. Looking at the NJCAA site there are only five hockey teams so it's no wonder no one heard of it until today.

Erie (PA), Hudson Valley (NY), Mohawk Valley (NY), SUNY Broome, and Dakota (ND).

Last year of JuCo hockey. Back when I was at Clarkson, Canton (ATC) was a JuCo powerhouse and sent a few players to D1 including CCT.

More recently Morrisville won JuCo title or two.

My kid is at a CC now and he played "extramural" hockey this year. It was really bad and his school was the worst (Normandale). When my kid is the best player on the team and skates 15 minutes out of a 17 min period you know it's bad.

Michigan man mistakenly locked up for 3 days loses lawsuit
http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20170307/news/303079907/

Federal Judge Laurie Michelson said Monday that the arrest was "unfortunate." But she says police acted reasonably in carrying out their duties.
Joseph Scott was stopped in 2013 for not wearing a seat belt. The Port Huron officer found Scott was violating a personal protection order because he was traveling with his ex-wife.

Coralee Scott insisted the order had expired. But Joseph Scott was kept in jail for three days - after first being treated for a panic attack.

Authorities discovered the Scotts were right: The expiration date on the protection order was wrongly entered into a database.

"Gee, sorry we screwed up and locked you up for three days. Maybe next time your paperwork will be right."
