Niagara@RPI101924

Second period ends with Niagara up 4-2.
We were awful. They are trying, but they are playing as individuals and getting out of position. The referees are no help either.

I think in all honesty that was probably a goal but that was a straight up bizarre review process.

Was there ever a conclusive angle of that Hotson "buttend" from yesterday?

Awful officiating all weekend

I think the original call was correct. Giesbrecht’s left leg was pushed back so he wasn’t square to the passer. Had he been able to pivot around he would have been in position to potentially block that pass.

on the other hand, I thought Niagara was the better team through most of the portions I watched so the result is what I would have expected.

In all my years of following hockey I cannot recall an ending like this. A goal is waved off. Reviewed and although still waved off, a penalty is called. Then reviewed again and the goal is now allowed. And yes, this entire weekend had about the worst officiating I have seen in a long time. On the positive side, what a nice comeback by a never give up RPI team down 2 goals starting the third period.
Concern about why #25 did not come back after the first period. Not a loss we can easily afford.

Thanks for the posts. It does seem like the worst refereed set of games in quite a while. Does anyone know if they are ECAC refs?
