Re: NHL Playoffs 2013 - Walruses, Trolls and other assorted creatures.

I wonder what LA's chance to win it all last year was when entering the playoffs? Probably < 2%? Thats called a bad mathematical model..

Yep, 1.12%. It's called small sample size. Play the 2012 playoffs 1,000 times, the Kings don't win all of them. While they would probably win more than 11 (they were hot coming in), they would lose far more often then they win. Anyway, if you don't like my stat posts, don't read them.

I like 'em. Interesting to see the math.

you're stats are bad and you should feel bad! ;)

serious question though. since the sample size is always going to be one, what exactly is the use of it?

Gotta love sitting on a one goal lead with seven minutes left. I really hate that ****, and they deserve to lose for it.

Dear MN Wild,
Turtling has its disadvantages. Such as preventing wins.

I was on the opposite end and have no idea how that went in.

OTT is kind of making MON look foolish.
