Bruins fire GM Peter Chiarelli. Kinda shows what happens when you fall in love with marginal players.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

I'm hearing reports that Pierre McGuire is tanned, well-rested and ready to provide lots of dated, mind-numbing, jabbering from Inside the Glass. Geez, be a shame if he got hit by a stray truck or something.
Yep.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Markov taps home the easy rebound past Price to put the Senators on the board for the first goal of the playoffs.

With that own goal, Ottawa is looking like a team of destiny on a Cinderella run...

This game is fantastic so far.

Edit: Montreal v Ottawa

Sandwiched between some Masters stuff in this is the broadcast teams for each series.

I can't believe that Rogers has Bob Cole sitting on the bench while we're stuck with Romanuk and Randorf.

For what it's worth, my 1st round picks:

Canadiens in 7
Lightning in 6
Rangers in 5
Islanders in 6

Blues in 6
Preds in 7
Ducks in 6
Flames in 7

Gotta love faceoff goals. Except for that one dumb mistake at the end of the first, we've played very well.

Indeed. What a game so far.

And PK gets the gate for a slash...
I'm slightly confused. Fans and beat writers whined all season about the refs swallowing their whistles and how the officials need to start calling penalties.

Then, they go and do it in the first playoff game, and everyone is up in arms *because* they're actually calling penalties.

Hockey Twitter is a bi-polar b*tch.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Everyone predicted Montreal and Ottawa would combine for 7 goals through 2 periods right?

Impressed NBC (NBCSN on USA) showed the Canadian national anthem. Kudos.

They go and do good things like this... then they continue to pay for a**holes like Pierre, Eddie-O, and Milbury. Ugh. They need to clean house and hire some more TSN guys.
