NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

I always pulled for Scott as he seemed like a decent guy.

A lot of Hawks fans hated on him coz of what he couldn't do, which made me want him to succeed all the more.

Still remember seeing that giant on the Kohl Center ice amongst college players.

That Scott piece is tremendous. I can't believe the NHL would try and pull his kids into it to shame him into dropping out. Don Maloney comes out looking like an ******* too, but I dunno how much he was forced by the league to trade Scott.

For the record, I scored a 77 on that first UChem exam. I had never been so happy to see a C in my life.

And there was a guy dressed as the Grim Reaper outside Fisher 135.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

I don't see any intent there.

Surprised they even need a hearing tbo.

I just saw the hit for the first time, are you serious about the lack of intent? Are you operating under the idea that Wideman was rattled and couldn't tell the linesman from the opponent? To me it looks like he lines up the linesman and goes at him with full intent on not only hitting him, but making an illegal hit even if he was another player.

I think I recall us getting bored one of those games and chanting "Scott's a tissue *clap*clap*clapclapclap*".

You wouldn't think he'd have a lengthy NHL career, but ****ed if he couldn't get a decent poke check on anyone in a three mile radius of him.

There's a pic that I can't link of Scott holding back two Gophers at arms' length. It's hilarious.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

So... he intentionally trucked a linesman, why?

Did something happen earlier in the game to **** him off?

Watching the video, he's heading to the bench and at the last second seems to notice the impending collision and tries to move laterally but can't avoid contact so puts up his hands to protect himself.

Seriously... it's not like he took a run at the guy. He had just got his bell rung and was laboring back to the bench.

I see no intent in the video and can't imagine what his motivation would be.

The only thing I don't like is how he just goes to the bench like nothing happened, but it's possible he didn't have all of his faculties.

Either that or he's a goon who thought it'd be fun to truck a linesman even though he knows that everything that happens on the ice is recorded.

Actually, that's probably what happened.

Send it to me and I'll put it up.

Would love to see it.

:)

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

There's probably no intent to injure, but the follow through tells me he intended the contact. 10 games is my guess.

Just caught the footage. He's not going to be playing for a little bit. You cannot do that under any circumstances.

His arm movement sold me on intent to hit. That alone should be 20.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

I remember a game at Tech from 2006 or so that was something like a 4-1 blowout in Tech's favor. With a couple minutes left in the 3rd, Scott got a clean break and potted one. The place went nuclear.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Not looking for a fight on this one, just struggling with motive.

General frustration, I suppose. No malice in particular.

And I don't care who you are, that Scott pic is funnier than hell. It's like the Gionta/Chara "fight." :D
