he lined him up, wasn't a principal target unlike farences his last night.

By this logic, Scott stevens career would have been ended from suspensions, not post concussion issues.

Wait, you actually think they call ANYTHING the same way they did when Stevens played?

Agreed. It was just dumb and ill-timed. The guy that made the pass should have gotten two minutes for being an idiot for setting up his teammate for that as well.

This game is getting a little silly now. Officials becoming a storyline. Never good.

Definitely. That's the pass you never make. It also looked like he waited to engage until the puck was there.

And the game has changed quite a bit since Stevens played.. I'm confused?

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

I don't think the blood was from the hit from Gryba, but from the hit from the ice. I am trying to think what could bleed THAT much THAT fast. I wonder if he bit his tongue off or something.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

right thats the idea. Stevens hits ( most of them) were clean and he was just a straight up bulldozer. That said, some of his hits could be construed as hits to the head - think eric lindross in 2000 to say the least. Maybe one could make a case for the follow through on Willis' in 2001 in game 1 against carolina. So yeah, the game clearly has changed in my mind.

They keep playing the hit - looks clean. Sometimes you can only describe some hits in sports as **** bad luck for the guy on the receiving end.

Didn't see it live, only replays. That's a clean hit.

I don't blame the refs for calling what they did. In real time I could see them thinking it was a headshot.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

Remember the 2010 Divelanche? In Game 3 against SJ, Anderson had a 50-save shutout and Boyle scored on his own net in OT. Sharts went on to win the next three games, and took the series 4-2.

Tonight? Subban scores on his own net, and Anderson goes 50-52. This means Anderson got in the one God-like performance he's good for, so Sens fans can have their little party now, because it's probably all downhill from here. :p

I'm calling it as I see it: That hit on Eller was barely high, if it was at all. Just a bad consequence. Certainly not worth the 5+game that he got from it.
