Interesting. At the end of Edwards' apology, he said something like "This apology is inspired only by my own conscience." The fact that Andy Brickley, the color guy and a very good professional one, didn't pick up on it spoke volumes to me; in fact I assumed that it was Brickley who said something off-air like "What the h**l are you saying?"

Certainly one of his more memorable gaffes, like comparing the Bruins to revolutionary war patriots, or burying a team's Stanley Cup hopes lower than the bottom of Lake Gitchigoomie.

Iowa Wild? That's really the best they could do?

Iowa Aeros would have even been better. All the good names couldn't have been taken already.

Iowa Dusters? (think of the Movember tie in!)

The team is owned by the wild, so I'm fine with it. Most minor league teams no longer share the parent team's nickname because of trademark royalties. That's not an issue here. Plus it would not shock me if they're trying to increase awareness of the parent club down here.

The problem isn't that the name is shared, the problem is that "Wild" is a stupid name to begin with.

I'm shocked Brown didn't dive after the hit. 2 games, sounds about right, didn't necessarily lead with the elbow, but it was a dangerous hit.

Looks like it is all going to come down to Saturday for the 8th spot. Assuming the Wild don't **** the bed and lose to Edmonton

The Wild and Backstrom have owned Edmonton for years it seems and the one big game against them and they start out like garbage.
