Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

I kind of hope he is playing on Sunday, really. Rupp and Konopka will be putting in some time on the punching bags between now and then, I'm sure.

Was that knee to knee or a hip stuck out late?

Just saw it on NHL Tonight, but couldn't make out the exact issue. Looked ugly - and painful.

Getting sick of these BS neutral zone plays.

He stuck his knee out at the last second and nailed him. Point of contact was the knees.

Sounds like Clutterbuck has a really bad charley horse and deep thigh bruise.

I didn't know he was still playing!

If you want a chronically injured former No. 1 pick signed for $4.5 million annually through 2021, check the waiver wire. Rick DiPietro is available.

The Islanders put DiPietro, healthy for the first time in years but barely playing, on waivers on Friday afternoon, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Per @<a href="https://twitter.com/tsnresearch">tsnresearch</a> - Rick DiPietro has played 175 games since signing 15-year deal w/ NYI while missing 247 due to injury</p>— Mark Masters (@markhmasters) <a href="https://twitter.com/markhmasters/status/304998884525092867">February 22, 2013</a></blockquote>

A Garth apologist? Will wonders never cease.

I don't give a crap about Garth Snow.
IMO though, the owner is to blame.
Let's say for instance Parise and Suter end up injured and can't live up to their contracts, is Fletcher to blame or Leipold?
IMO it's Leipold.

Ultimately everything is the owner's fault. The"buck stops here". That being said, "Garth Snow is the man when it comes to signing players up there and he makes the recommendations to the owner. You really honestly think the owner is going to sign that contract if his GM is saying no"? I don't think so.

I am pretty sure DiPietro's contract was signed during the transition period between Milbury and Snow. Wang was the one forcing it. ;)
