Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

This does came across my desk (makes me sound important)

According to TSN, the Bruins sent AHL defenseman Marc Cantin and forward Yannick Riendeau to the Islanders in exchange for Brian Rolston and Mike Mottau. Defenseman Steve Kampfer was traded to the Wild for Zanon.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

The blockbuster comes through for TSN:

To Buffalo:
Cody Hodgson, Alexander Sulzer

To Vancouver:
Zach Kassian, Marc-Andre Gragnani

If you wondered if you were watching Canadian TV, the amount of slobbering over a kid who's been in the AHL most of this season on the Sabres like he would have been the answer to beating Boston last year gives it away.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Somewhere, at a bar in Columbus, Rick Nash is crying.

Meanwhile, LGW.com should be lighting up with the annual whining over a player already within Detroit's system being our deadline acquisiton.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Greg Zanon to the Bruins for Steve Kampfer.

I'm trying to decide if todays moves actually make the Wild any better in the short term or if they are just shuffling pieces they know don't fit for an extended tryout on pieces that might fit.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Nothing quite so satisfying as seeing the Devils make a hockey game as boring as they want it to be but still lose.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Since the Leafs are playing like crap again tonight (2 goals on the first 2 Fla. shots) I needed to post something from a happier night two years ago today! :D

Well played, sir. :)

Wonder if the Blackhawks fans will start a "Fire Wilson" chant tonight? It will make him feel right at home.

That was a pretty terrible non-call on whomever hooked down Pacioretty. Although, Max didn't exactly help himself with jumping five feet off the ice to try and draw the call.

I could not find a good Bill Barber video, but there is always the NCAA all time king of the leap:
