Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Brian Lee to the Lightning for Gilroy.

EDIT: Rich Nash is getting nervous. Allegedly demanding a trade now.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Twitter report that Lidstrom and Quincey not on the ice at the Wings practice. Hard to believe there would be anything there, unless they got a good offer to flip Quincey.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Dives got McGinn, M. Connolly, and an OHL prospect for Winnik and Galiardi.

EDIT: Oduya to the Blackhawks

The OHL prospect (Sgarbossa) is the one that stings. 2nd in the league in scoring this year, and the Sharks forward prospect depth is basically Nieto and Hamilton now. Connolly was probably never making the NHL. 5'9 dudes don't unless they're really good.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

On a side note, since the plane didn't take off from Minneapolis until about 90 minutes ago, they could just stick a parachute on McGinn and shove him out over Denver.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Sharks called Columbus one last time, Howson still wants Couture as part of a deal.

I wouldn't trade Couture straight up.

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

I'm reading that the Rangers traded for John Scott from the Blackhawks. Any of the MTU folks have anything to tell me about him?

Re: NHL 2012: The Chase for the Cup

Not an MTU'er, but he's a big lumbering pile who is more for intimidation than anything. Even his skating skills leave something to be desired. Very big defensive liability when on the ice.

If I remember right, he was the last defender back against the Canucks last year in that Game 7 OT winner by Vancouver.

Speaking of, Vancouver still has one deal awaiting trade approval by the NHL which will directly effect the Chicago Wolves.

I think Scott will be there to play enforcer so Prust can actually stay on the ice and contribute to the offense.

Buffalo and Vancouver is the outstanding trade.

Cody Hodgson for Zack Cassien? (sp: Buffalo prospect)

Big, slow, pylon, likes to punch people, make sure you get his keys if he's been drinking.
