Makes kind of an anti-climatic ending. Kind of dramatic, but it was like they were just downing the ball after a lead- not that they had to score.
I get it- and wished the Lions did that a few times- but a lot less exciting.

I don't think that's correct. Pretty sure TD did it in '98. Warner might have done it too in '99.
ETA: As to the last MVP/Super Bowl winner being Favre.

Yeah, kickers in the NFL this year are around 98% from 20-29 yards. I’m giving the Eagles more than a 2% chance to get a TD if KC runs it in with 1:40 to go. Now, I wouldn’t have pushed my kicker back another eight yards, but that was still shorter than an extra point.

The problem is that for most of their history the Vikings kick the FG with three minutes left, and half the time miss. What the chiefs did tonight was smart.

And the Jets beat Pittsburgh this year specifically because Pittsburgh scored a TD when they should not have.
You play the time in that situation. Any Vikings idiocy does not factor into this.

ETA. Yeah, TD won the MVP and Super Bowl in the 98 season, and Warner repeated the feat in 99. NFL article you cite is wrong.
