NFL 2019: Superb Owl and Offseason

Re: NFL 2019: Superb Owl and Offseason

There will never be a developmental or minor league while the NFL gets those for free with college football.

AAF's biggest issue from what i heard was their inability to get NFL practice squad, future contract players involved via agreement with the NFL.

Scuttlebutt is that Tom Dundon (the guy who dropped $250M to pay players' salaries) is behind this against the will of the founders - he was after the league's technology and now that he has it he's yanking funding.

Buckle up, this could get lawyer-y.

ETA: Apparently Vincent Kennedy McMahon just sold another $275M in WWE stock. Huehuehue.

I figured something was behind it. If he was actually concerned about the league, he wouldn't have started the rumors of suspension/folding and the NFLPA in the first place, as that would only drive down interest in the league.

Anticipating and embracing interest from serious and casual gamblers, the A.A.F. has invested heavily in the technology and platforms that can provide data in a blink of an eye, all in the hope of transforming a minor league football broadcast into an interactive experience. Among the A.A.F.’s early investors were venture capital firms like Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, media companies like the Chernin Group and the gambling and entertainment powerhouse MGM Resorts International.

MGM executives said they were most taken by the A.A.F.’s app, which can provide a host of data in milliseconds. The information arrives so fast, in fact, that the league and its partners said it could eventually allow in-game betting on play outcomes — like pass or run — and a host of other propositions.

The draft is tonight (and tomorrow and the day after).

@darrenrovell: ESPN has told agents that they will not show their client on the NFL draft broadcast from homes or parties if there is a sponsorship/brand logo anywhere within the camera’s path.

The Duke QB at #6 overall? Interesting move, Giants.

I watch it on NFL Network anyway.

Dwayne Haskins gets a few more months to get in some nice memories with his leg bones.

Mahomes lands the Madden 20 cover...

...and sets a speedrun record for the Madden Curse as Tyreek Hill is almost certainly going bye-bye after a horrific tape about his child-hitting case got leaked to the local news.

Jesus, that recording... The whole idea of hitting your kids to teach them something is so f-cking mindnumbingly stupid and wrong. It's no wonder people grow up to be animals. They are raised by animals. Mom seems like a real peach, too.
