NFL 2019-20: The Patriots Are A Terrible 11-3 Team!

Pats win a game throwing the ball 3 times. Too funny

And everyone says the running game is dead.

I just saw the first half, where the pats threw it ONCE. Eli and Payton thought it was a line call and the OC was pretty pissed that he did that, too. But it worked.

Have to give Belechek credit, though- making a game plan around the conditions like that.

The other funny note- I saw the score being 14-10, and I though- "Oh, the Pats got a second TD...." then I remembered it was 11-7 at half time. 14 points the interesting way. Given the conditions, 3 FG's is pretty darned impressive for both teams.

Looking at the score, I missed an interesting second half. There was no life in the Steelers in the first half, and it looked like they would just keep laying down.

They finally realized Bashaud Breeland is out there and really attacked his side. The result was the Vikings defense giving up 293 yards in the final 20 minutes. It was impressive.

I've paid almost no attention to football this year, but I saw the NFL standings and I love how there are no really super teams. I like the parity. Teams I will be rooting for down the stretch, in case you want to put down some money against them:

Buffalo
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
Cincinnati
Minnesota

The AFC doesn't even have any teams with <4 losses, which is nuts. On the other hand, if there's a year where adding an extra WC team is very meh, it's this year, where you're more likely to be adding some 9-8 teams and not 11-6 or something like that. (God I hate having to come up with 17 game records.)

Thinking about it, I really am an NFL Great Lakes Whore.

Minnesota
Green Bay
Chicago
Detroit
Cleveland
Buffalo

I would be perfectly at peace if that was the entire league.

Add Toledo and Milwaukee.

Edit: holy sh-t, I had no idea how far inland (350 miles!) Minneapolis was!!! I honestly thought it was within 100 miles of either Lake Superior or Lake Michigan.
Well, the Vikings have to stay so that means a few other cities are now eligible.

That gets Pittsburgh in, which is good. Syracuse, any takers?

Indy is closer to Lake Michigan than that. So is Cincy to Lake Erie. Heck, New York is closer to Lake Ontario is less than 300 miles. Which puts Phily into play, too.

So the Bills take what happened to them last week and do the opposite (almost)- in the first half against TB, they have exactly zero rushing attempts by a running back. (Allen has something near 40 yards)

Did you mean 150 miles, Kep?

I don't even know anymore.

What I meant was if you cut everybody from the NFL but the Norris Division, Buffalo, and the Steelers, you would not lose any core value, and this is coming from someone who has never rooted for any of those teams.

tl; dr: It should fucking snow. See also: hockey. If you cut everybody from the NHL but Montreal and Toronto, you would not lose any core value.

North of the Ohio and West of the Missouri. The rust belt and Northeast. I do think more football should be played in the snow and cold including the superb owl (not a typo)

But you should keep the Lions inside. So they stay soft. Just like they have been since they moved indoors.

And you can get the big bowl game inside when it's well below zero.

I've always rounded the distance between MPLS and Duluth up to 150. Don't think there's 200 miles of Duluth before you get to the shore. ;^)

Oh, okay, that's makes more sense. I asked the google machine the distance from Minneapolis to Lake Superior and it said 350 miles. Maybe it meant to LSSU. :-)

OK, I feel better about my tenuous grasp of Flatland geography now.
