NFL 2018.1 The off season

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

I'm not going to be as harsh on AB. In 1997, as we were spending warm spring days hauling waterlogged furniture, carpeting and appliances out of Grand Forks homes, it was a pleasant surprise to look out on the street corner and see towering pallets of cans of Bud water sitting there.

Good for them. Now give 10x as much. Or 100x. If for no other reason keep your dumbf-ck install base alive to drink more.

But a Brazilian company doesn't really owe Americans anything I guess.

While I avoid InBev products when I can, I won't knock them for charitable donations. Wish they wouldn't pat themselves so hard on the back for it, but that's not exclusive to them in the corporate world.

Have yet to see it from a reputable source, but Malcolm Butler supposedly missed curfew and also got caught w/ weed...

If true, dumbass got what he deserved...

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

Am I the only one who didn’t like the fire and ice ads?

I didn't much care for them. Good idea, it just didn't really work out.

And as for Butler, he allegedly also melted down on the coaches.

They were fine, they just weren't OMG!!!1!11. Dinklage was not as good as Freeman, but hey, I'm glad to see Shawty's getting the work.

Pretty forgettable crop of ads this year. No one really took a risk, and those that did beat us over the head with the virtue signaling.

1) Eli going Patrick Swayze
2) Tide hijacking everything
3) Alexa losing her voice
4) Dinklage/Freeman

I can't recall any others. That's how forgettable they were.

some others stood out. Not necessarily for being great.

Lionel Ritchie Trading
Danny DeVito M&Ms
Vikings Ship

The one thing about the Alexa ad- why would anyone want to buy something that they advertised it's failure on TV like that? It was funny, but it also told us that it was an unreliable system.

The ads steered me away from even trying it.

Alexa is a terrible idea anyway if you know even a little about security and privacy. The f-cks already control the data we willingly give them, why deliver yourself even more into their clutches?

This is the eventual cure, anyway.

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

I actually thought that the commercials were the best they've been in years. The Dirty Dancing one was the best, Alexa was also very good, and I liked Dinkles, because Dinkles. As a collection, the Tide ads were just awesome. Febreeze did good with the Man Who's **** Doesn't Stink. The Toyota baby one was dumb, as was the MLK Dodge one, and anything Inbev is going to **** me off, and then there were several mediocre ones, but overall, more good ones than I've seen in past years.

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

There were no "beat our chests and tell you to blow the military," which is a nice change after 15 years of Starship Troopers (though obviously the Shield shoved plenty of that in our face with the fly by & etc.

If he retires I give it a socially-decent three years before she takes the train. She's still got the looks for the Gross Old Groper circuit and his endorsements aren't going to pull in enough.
Are you kidding me? She makes money than god let alone Brady. She may leave but money won't have anything to do with it.

The money is tangential -- it's the fame that put Brady in her orbit. When he's just another fat, balding Phil Simms what's his appeal?

Personality?

Five years after retirement Brady will be Bobby Orr -- a god inside 128, unrecognizable to the man on the street outside of it. And probably working for the same lame bank.
