Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

Dallas got a gift last week, maybe it wasn't a catch but wow.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

that was a catch IMO (or at the very least should be a catch). just not clear enough for me to call that incomplete.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

"One call doesn't change a whole game." -- Dallas Cowboys fans last week.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

As someone who lives around Lions fans, I am very familiar with that rule. As soon as it happened I was yelling for McCarthy to challenge completing the process.

Some weird second level karma going on here. Lions get screwed against Chicago a few years ago, get screwed last week against Dallas but now Dallas gets screwed on completing the process. Surely won't make them happy but it'll at least have to make them chuckle.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

anyway, a gimpy rodgers isn't beating seattle

Yeah, definitely not. There would be a chance if the game was at Lambeau, but playing terrible in Buffalo stopped that from happening. I'm just hoping for a closer game than the season opener.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

Almost as bad as the tuck rule. Utter crap. That was a catch. Benefit from a screw job, die by a screw job.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

Dallas could have solved this had they scored more points earlier in the game so they wouldn't be in that position at the end of the game.

... isn't that what Dallas fans told Lions fans last week?

Football is fun! :D So glad I don't care about it.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

That reversal call was an embarrassment to the NFL.

I give credit to Dallas in making the gutsy call and then having the players that could execute it. Aikman questioned going for it on 4th down and then was gushing about what a great play it was. Too funny.

If Dallas would of put it in the end zone on the next play Rodgers would of gotten the ball back with a great chance to show his meddle and win the game the way it was supposed to be won ala Joe Montana and many of the great quarterbacks who came before him. If I were a Packer fan that would of been the way to win it. No...the Packers have to challenge the play... Nonetheless the Packers won, whoop-dee-do, not watching the Denver game, I'll skip the NFL from here on out for this season. What a joke. I am going to go back to see if Lynn Swan really caught that catch in the Superbowl, didn't he bobble it on the way down?

Anyway back to hockey. I needed to see for myself why I really stopped following the NFL and today was the perfect example.

Fixed.

The NFL has had a few years to change that rule after the play in Chicago and they haven't. Hate the rule if you want (I do) but Dallas in no way got screwed. Sounds like they applied the rule as written.

I certainly thought it was a catch and was yelling at my TV and calling McCarthy an idiot for wasting our last timeout.

He knew the rule. I did not.
