BOb Costas nailed it.

Bob Costas is a blowhard, though not quite as bad as Jim Nance. Nance has been on my ****list since he bashed the Missouri Valley the year they got 4 in to Big Dance (and after getting 2 of the 4 to the Sweet 16, he tried to spin it as "people" questioning their selection, as though he wasn't one of them).

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

As a Pats fan I'm feeling kind of weird about next week.

A good part of me feels like there's no way the Pats can lose. Belichick gameplans as well as any coach in the league, and though the Patriots defense is quite porous, the offense SHOULD provide at least 30, even against Denver's D.

...But I also feel like the Patriots try and get too cute a lot of times, and don't put the game away when they should...which is exactly what Tebow thrives on.

My heart, and 90% of my brain says the Pats should win 42-7, the other 10% says it'll be a 31-28 game.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Great first week of fantasy playoffs for me. MJD went ape, and maybe more importantly, everyone else (Cam Newton, Dez Bryant, Stevie Johnson, Owen Daniels, Santana Moss, Torrey Smith, Dan Bailey, Chicago D) had at least a pretty good game, with Newton putting up almost 25 and everyone else in double figures. I'm up 150.34-140.68 (my opponent got big games from Tom Brady, Shonn Greene, Antonio Gates and Detroit D but everyone else underperformed for him, especially Willis McGahee and Arian Foster) and Marshawn Lynch, who's been a beast lately, hasn't even played yet for me.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Re the Fantasy Playoffs...the bye served me well this week. Vick came back and stayed healthy, and McFadden and AP were both still out, so they didn't get hurt. Even if McFadden comes back next week...I'm leaning towards playing Reggie Bush. He broke 100 again yesterday, and his 5 catches look nice in a PPR league.

Gonna be a TOUGH matchup next week. Hoping Denver's D can shut down Gronkowski. I hope all his success and attention lead to the Broncos doing everything they can to shut him down.

Just a quick cursory question. I have Calvin Johnson and Mike Wallace for 2 of my WR's. Who do I start at 3, in a PPR league? Gaffney, Heyward-Bey, or Simpson? I'm leaning towards Gaffney because he's the most consistent out of all of them, at least at the moment. DHB has the deep threat, but drops a lot of balls.

The Miami Dolphins have come to terms with the release of head coach Tony Sparano. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

So, is this the new thing now? Let the coach go before the season is over? Get a head start so you can get the next Brad Childress before he's hired by Green Bay? Or, better yet, hang on to Leslie Frazier?

I think you meant "fired by Green Bay", since he got canned after the Vikings got obliteraped by the Packers last season. See also: Phillips, Wade.

No, I'm referring to how the Wilf's were so afraid that Green Bay was going to hire him they wouldn't let him leave Mpls. after his interview. You guys got the better coach. Grats.

Because he wanted out? :D

I'm sick of "It's Buffalo" being used as a valid excuse. He was drafted by them and should be grateful for that. If he wants out, play hard til your darn contract runs out and then leave. A city shouldn't be a used as a reason.

Well it won't be an issue in a couple years when they are the Toronto Bills.
