Two ties?! the hell? Don't you use fractional points?
his scoring system is archaic and simple :P let me see if I get it right
6 pt rushing/return td
3 pt passing/receiving td
2 pt 2pt conversion run
1 pt 2pt conversion pass/reception
3 pt 300 passing, 2 pt for each additional 100 yards?
3 pt 100 receiving/rushing, 2 pt for each additional 50 yards
3 pt for any field goal
1 pt for extra points
no negative points
team kicker and quarterback

In other news, I was able to pick up Kenny Britt tonight in my money league...still can't believe that.

5-2. My team is terrible and defying the odds. No idea how it is happening. I'm not eking out wins either. I think I won by almost 40 this week.

I love the smoke and mirrors. Been living off of that for the last two years. :D

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

My league uses hundredths of points...

1 point for every 25 passing yards, 5 bonus for going over 300, 400, 500
1 point for every 10 rushing yards, 5 bonus for going over 100, 200, 300
1 point for every 10 receiving yards, 5 bonus for going over 100, 200, 300
2 points for every 15 TE receiving yards, 3 bonus for going over 80, 160, 240
1 point per reception
3 points per field goal, 5 for over 50 yards
5 bonus points for a TD over 40 yards
1 point per tackle
1 point per pass defended
2 points per sack
3 points per interception
3 points per forced/recovered fumble

Gotta love high scoring games!

Every QB I have in any of my rosters in all three of my leagues has a bye this week. How's that for bad planning?

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

I somehow managed to win in a week when I had Peyton Manning, Andre Johnson and Arian Nation on a bye. Whew, that one made me nervous. Now at 6-1.

That's why you get backups with different bye weeks than your starters.

That's what I generally do, but I picked up Vick after his hot start not realizing that he has the same by week as Eli and Flacco.

The quick recap of my 1-2 week:

League 1: Won 122.22 - 121.06, now 5-2 with the third-highest point total in the league (the guy with the highest is somehow 3-4). MVP: Eli Manning (33.14). Should have played Darren McFadden (43.6) instead of Ryan Mathews (2.2), but luckily it didn't cost me.

League 2: My formerly-first place team lost 90.65 - 72.88 to one of the two worst teams in the league. Should have played Percy Harvin (16.6) instead of Brandon Lloyd (4.6), Antonio Gates (11) instead of Aaron Hernandez (5.4) (but that was an injury play rather than a judgment call). But really, Rashard Mendenhall (4.3) was the biggest culprit.

League 3: Lost 148.35 - 135.03, and now my team (with the second-highest point total in the league) is 3-4. Credit where credit is due to Eli Manning (37.02) for making a game of it last night, but too many of his passes went to Steve Smith (on my opponent's team) to overcome a big lead after Sunday's games. Not much I could've done in a league with a small bench (4 slots, 11 active players) and Calvin Johnson and Jahvid Best on bye, not with Chris Johnson (8.3) and Brandon Lloyd (5.1) stinking up the joint.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Our GM is a moron. Only lets our roster have two QBs. Of course both of my QBs are on bye this week. He only lets a roster have two TEs on the roster too, which is absurd because we can actually start two TEs.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Picking both QBs with the same bye week, though...

I auto-drafted since I was in Colombia when the draft took place. And I don't think I even drafted a second QB, I picked up Vick because in our league he was putting up a ton of points.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

One of my leagues is fully auto draft. My pick (10 of 12) was Ryan Matthews. I'm currently 1-6 and in 11th place. My only win was versus the winless team. At least I'm only 2 games out of the playoffs. :o

Week 8 Maps

I feel bad for the folks stuck watching SF-Denver. The Jax-Dallas matchup should at least be amusing.
