Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

I wonder if Gruden says anything about Jim Zorn and the coaching situation in DC.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Giants looking good so far (as of 8:47 DVR time).

Oh right, it's the Redskins. ;) :D

Don't know about that, but he did just make yet another reference to the "Tuck Rule" game. Apparently winning a Super Bowl the very next year didn't help him get over that...

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

I guess that's a no. Tirico talked about it at length, and Jaws just talked about it but Gruden was uncharacteristically silent...

The Redskins know there is a game tonight, right?

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Wow the Skins are awful.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

That was a heck of a catch by Moss. Apparently to be the only nice play by the 'Skins tonight...

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

It probably won't matter, but the Skins just "trickeration"-ed themselves out of 3 points.

It would have been hilarious if the Giants ran that back for a TD. :D

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

...

I'm just...what the hell was that?

Swinging gate...then send the kicker out to the left...let the Giants rush unblocked...throw into a mass of people who aren't even in the endzone...what was that supposed to accomplish?

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Was that an in-game version of making your offense run wind sprints?

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

I think I could have scored that one.

Is there a mercy rule in the NFL?

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Text of an email this broken-spirited Skins fan sent out to a few friends during the the pregame:

If the Skins win:

1) The number in their "meaningless W" column increases by one.

If the Skins lose:

1) They will position themselves for a better draft pick.
2) A Giants win will lower the margin of error that the Cowboys have.
3) Cowboys fans are rooting for the Redskins. Why the hell would I want the Redskins to come through for Cowboys fans when they haven't come through for me in 20 years?

It's a no-brainer - a Redskins loss would give me the greatest amount of comfort tonight. Go Giants!

... and the soul of the NFL fan in me continues to unravel.... sigh....

:(

i was hoping. in their defense, a lot of them got back very quickly.. they must have known it was getting picked off.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Ummmm...I thought throwing punches was verboten in the NFL.

I don't know how Jacobs didn't get anything on that... at least Matching for roughing ;) But he and Hanesworth should have both been tossed, and Jacobs should have been more penalized for that whole exchange, and somehow he didn't get anything. Quality.
