As there should be after the last 2 performances by Oswego. Oz will be lucky to remain in the top 5 as I don't see them getting any #1 votes.

Two words to describe the performance tonight- undisciplined and listless. It goes without saying that in the third Hare was very disappointing and a couple of guys on our team need to grow up and skate when things are not going their way. Justin Fox was one of these players who did have a beef with who else but Murphy who didn't call a hands to the face on Hamilton. Fox proceeded to argue with Murphy and gave the Continentals a man advantage because of this and they scored off of it. Oswego played right into Hamilton's hands and that's what they needed to happen in order to beat the Lakers in the CCIA. I also don't understand the change in the lines when things seemed to be clicking on the 3rd and 4th lines. I would say after this game that Jones will be in net tomorrow with the possibility of Hare coming into relieve. But, I would think things would have to get as ugly as tonight in order for Gosek to pull Jones. This loss stings extremely bad but pick your heads up boys and don't dwell on this. We can start a new streak tomorrow.

And my gut is telling me that Niagra isn't much better of a hockey team than Oswego (if at all), so expectations of this Hare kid may be a bit much...

The Lakers have no business being number one without Beckwith in net...so really, should they had been number one at all? It looks like it will be a long second semester if he either does not come back...or if one of these other goalies do not start up...and the skaters get the game back into their head. 10 goals allowed in the past two games...sure Jones only gave up 1 to Utica before that but then a 5 spot, followed by another 5 spot between two backup goalies.
Someone needs to step up tonight in the consolation game.

I said it after the Hobart game and I will say it after watching the Hamilton game. Oswego is not that good. They like to think that they are the best team in D3 hockey. But the truth is that they clearly are not. In both games, they just expected that they will win. They didn't skate with a purpose or energy or anything. After 2 periods, both the players and the fans just expected that in the third they will score 4 goals to win and just pull it out. At the rate they are going, Geneseo will probably win the SUNYAC and who knows where they will be.
Hare did not look like anything special especially for a D1 transfer.
Tomorrow's game will be interesting because I would not be surprised if theres a fight or two between Oswego and UW-SP.

This is what I have seen as well phillyhockey. There is a lack of energy and purpose on the ice and a lack of a true leader. I really don't understand how their is a lack of the first two. Your other comment about them not being that good is an exaggeration. They are just in a rut right now trying to find their identity again and I have full faith that they will come back strong. I mean look at Plattsburgh they are a good team and have had some troubles thus far this year. It looks like there is a lot of parody around D-3 this year and St. Norbert and Norwich will have some tough games ahead as well. Not trying to bash on Oswego here too much, but when you're playing a normal "tournament" style (winner a vs winner b) weekend, don't the winners normally play in the late game?? I understand the “home” team playing night 1 the late game (or having choice), but I’ve always thought it was Consolation game first, then Championship game. Kind of a slap in the face to Hamilton who had to play the late game last night, and now has to turn around and play in the early game after winning..I know Oswego did this a few years ago, but not sure I’ve seen this too many other times…then again the home team doesn’t normally lose their opening round game….

I don't think "they" (Oswego) like to think anything like that. The USCHO voters...not NCAA...picked Oswego to be "number one" based on how they performed up to that point. Oswego seemed to have dominated the SUNYAC through the first semester, and as such, the voters responded, especially after teams like Plattsburgh did not have a great start and Norwich took a loss earlier this season.
I don't think the players ever going in "just expecting" to win...and we know Gosek does not go into games that way. In my own opinion...and I have only watched on WTOP live stream or listened to WNYO...ever since Beckwith got hurt the team has a different look and feel to it. Whether they want to admit it or not, the loss of Beckwith has negatively affected the teams ability to approach games with the same intensity.
Oswego is still undefeated in the SUNYACs and their non conference schedule is not going to affect how Geneseo or any other team for that matter finishes the year off. While I agree that there still will be an all out dog fight for the SUNYAC this year, as usual...I would not put Geneseo as the team to beat in the SUNYAC as of yet.
