New weekly women's D-I feature

As always I love the insight this weekly article provides that you don't get elsewhere. Being a Red fan it would've been nice to see credit to the Cornell depth.....while missing 6 seasoned players, Kendice Olgilvie steps up big and scores 6 pts (her 1st and 2nd goals of the season) to earn ECAC player of the week honors; with leading scorer for freshman, Jillian Saulnier in Germany, Monika Leck steps up to earn ECAC Rookie of the week honors -- and frankly Lauren Slebodnick (Mazzotta also in Germany) should've been ECAC goalie of the week with 1 GA in 2 games. not to mention players like Erin Barley Maloney scores her 1st and 2nd goals with the Big Red and Xandra Hompe getting her 1st two goals of the year since joining at the end of soccer season. These are players who dont normally get as much playing time when the full roster is present but they clearly showed they can step up to the challenge. Not many teams have that type of depth.

Re: New weekly women's D-I feature

Got a lot going on in this week's edition: http://www.uscho.com/2012/02/01/wednesday-women/

We check out Clarkson beating Cornell, the emergence of BU, and the race for the final playoff spots in ECAC and Hockey East, as well as the muddy WCHA playoff picture and what could happen if a team outside the current eight in the PWR wins the conference tournaments.
