New team for 2011-2012

Just saw that Franklin Pierce added Women's Ice Hockey for next year. Down side is they are a D2 program so I'm guessing they will be in the same boat as St Mike's and St. A's. Does this mean we could finally see a D2 championship at some level??

I'm sure I should know this, but do DI and DII teams that play a DIII women's hockey schedule count under the NCAA rules to determine the number of slots in the NCAA tournament?

As far as I know, they could join a DI conference and be totally eligible for postseason play.
