Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

Just rented "Midnight in Paris" -- really liked it. And I loved the modern guy going back to the unbelievable Paris of the 20's, and meeting people (like, I dunno, Picasso, and Man Ray, and what-have-you) and one of them says, "Yeah, Paris now is OK, but I'd LOVE to have been in the Belle Epoque. Turn of the century Paris? That's when it was REALLY jumping!"

"I can smell the alcohol on your breath!"
"That's because I've been drinking, bitch!"

Hancock is such a great movie.

How did you get the beans over the frank??
"What. In the hell. Were you thinking? How'd you get the zipper all the way to the top?"

I was watching it on AMC last night, and that was the first time I had seen it without the money shot towards the end. It made me realize how funny that scene is just in how it's written (slowly bringing in more characters, asking more questions, giving more funny details) instead of just as a grossout gag.

Also, I think AMC was showing an extended version of it, because several of the scenes were a lot longer than I remember, and there was a subplot or two that I had absolutely no memory of (including a REALLY dark one involving one of the smaller supporting roles).

That's a good one. Nobody was ever happy in their own time. There was always some mythical golden age that happened before their own time.

Made we want to finally read the Great Gatsby. That wore off after about 7 or 8 pages... :o

Caught Looper today. Agree that it's really, REALLY good.

Mind bending sorta like Inception (although the plot is not similar), but it never loses you.

Seriously enjoyed Looper.

Bunch of slack-jawed faggots around here. This stuff will make you a god ****ed sexual Tyrannosaurus, just like me.

Yep, Predator.

There's so much awesomeness in this.

This is simply an awesome movie. Girlfriend hasn't seen it before, she is less than impressed. I'm not changing the channel.

I wish I could have quit reading that book before that point. Stupid required reading in school.

You think that's bad, my wife doesn't think much (anything) of Point Break.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

Last girlfriend thought Road House sucked. Should have ended it then and saved myself three more years of pointlessness.
