New Hampshire Vs. Jon's Friars in Rhody

Re: New Hampshire Vs. Jon's Friars in Rhody

Thank you again -- much quicker feed... Who won da Bruins' game you caught?
No problem.

The Bruins lost to the Kings in a shootout last Saturday while I was there (I hate the shootout, could of just not played the game if that's how you're going to decide a "winner").

Beaudry in net for PC, Foster for UNH.

Game on!

Save Beaudry, rebound fired down ice for icing on PC.

Couldn't agree with you more. Best game I ever saw in person -- and thus arguably includes even the one below (second period of that one was quiet) was when UNH beat Cornell in the Garden in the 1977 (?) ECAC semi-finals.

Final score: UNH 10, Cornell 9 in 2 OT's (!) This is not a typo.

And those were 20 minute OT's -- not the girlie-boy 5 minute ones we have now.

Game on...

Henrion w/a wrist shot that is saved and PC clears the zone...

Puck knocked down w/a high stick for a face off.

I think in the regular season, ties are okay, give 'em each a point and move on. The playoffs are great w/the 20 min. sudden death OT, that I get.

Save Foster on a tip out front, play on going... always fast ice at the coffin.

13:24 to go and an extra move puts, UNH (I believe) offside.

Again, agreed. I have no problem with one point each after five minutes in regular season play.

The shootout thing is lame -- imagine letting B-ball teams trade shooting foul shots after a tied first OT...

Beck w/a shot tipped by LeBlanc that is saved, 11:00 left to go.

Definitely, just seems like they're trying too hard to create drama.

I remember when Hockey East used to do a shootout, was quite glad when they stopped that malarkey.

Moses w/a chance, but a nice recovery by PC to prevent the shot.

Under 9:00 to go, play ongoing.
