An extra $100 per night for walking distance and a 5 night commitment. I wish I was rich. My girlfriend wouldn't want to be downtown though, so we're at a well-reviewed spot on the bay.

4 nights not 5. Well worth it, having stayed there in 2012. You save money on not needing to take a cab or renting a car.

I believe the Tampa Inn Fairgrounds has rooms for $65 a night. Not only is that a steal but you'll be able to bring some bug bites as souvenirs.
