UNO's special teams have been absolutely scary awful. They've allowed 11 power play goals in the last 3 games. And, the goaltending is very average, to say the least. This is the worst this program has looked (so far), to me, since Coach Blais took over. I know DU has had a somewhat uneven start to the season but I am still thinking DU sweep this weekend. I have a very pessimistic outlook on this season, now, after seeing what this team has to offer. The Mavs have spent the better part of their season so far looking pretty clueless (and, stupid--as a good percentage of all these penalties we've been taking have been idiotic). Here's hoping I am wrong, but................

I never thought I'd hear myself saying this about this team with Coach Blais at the helm, but, we don't look all that well coached to me. I find myself wondering if he has somehow lost interest in what he is doing, that's how discombobulated things have looked. We'll see what happens this weekend.

Re: Nebraska Omaha at Denver--Nov. 1 and 2--Let the NCHC Season Begin

Sam Brittain in goal surely gives DU an advantage over Massaand whoever. UNO's forwards certainly have the pedigree to score, but between the goalies and the penalties doesn't seem like they can stop the oppostin from outscoring them.

Doesn't seem like a Dean Blais coached team. Just fear that this weekend the Red Mavs will figure it out and some goalie will stand on his head to stop shots. That said hoping for a DU sweep. Since there are no ties in the NCHC 6 pts for 2 regulation wins, 5 for regulation win and shootout win ? and then i'm more confused:confused:

I spent my lunch hour reading all about UNO preparing for this weekend's games and this is exactly how I would summarize what I read as their play to this point of the season. I just hope that this weekend the coaching doesn't kick in.

Anyone hear if the two forwards Monty alluded to last weekend will be back this weekend?

Just came across DU Game Notes. Looks like Didier and Janssen are questionable for the weekend. Romig is out as he serves the last 2 games of his NCAA suspension and Hawkinson tweeted that he is ready for his surgery. It looks like Larraza is back.
