While from a pizzazz standpoint, a reformed CCHA would be even less exciting than the current WCHA...the one thing it would do is put the remaining current WCHA schools in the west on ice. There is a decent chance that the NCHC would need to add several schools to get back to where it was - probably MSU and BSU (with MTU having what it would probably consider a less savory option of looking east). In this scenario, the Alaska schools and AHA would find really tough sledding.
If Miami and WMU wanted to leave the NCHC, their only realistic league options would be to join the WCHA or join a re-established CCHA (which would consist of BG and many of the current WCHA teams). If the CCHA became a conference again, that very well could mean the end of the WCHA.
