NCHC Championship - Denver vs. Miami - Saturday 3/22/14

Drop a net over Czarnik & Coleman Check
Score 3 or more goals Check
Win 20 games for the 12th (or 13th?) straight season Check
Go to the NCAA tournament for the 7th (?) consecutive time and 25th ? overall Check
Win the inaugural NCHC post season tournament Check
After the lack luster final two series of the season, winning only 1 of 3. And the even more lack luster performance Thursday night in Omaha (no shots on a major penalty) who in the world thought we'd be here?
Not this old t*rd. Major props to the players and coaches. They dug deep and found something we hadn't seen much of all season long. It's all gravy from here on. Way to go, boys.

Thrilled and proud! I too am on the record from weeks ago stating there was a lot of hockey left to play and stating there was no reason to give up.

You were surely right! I differentiate between being hopeful and being optimistic. I'm always hopeful. But not optimistic after the Thursday night game in Omaha. I wish I could join you for that pizza. Wonder if they have crow for a topping.

Certainly a big step in the right direction for him and establishing his own reputation. He came in under very awkward circumstances. And it seems like he had a little early resistance (remember all those "not acting right" suspensions?) but that's all in the past. So let's hoist a glass for Monty. He da man!
